Yeah and sounds like GM caved again.

"The United Auto Workers ended its brief strike against General Motors early Wednesday after GM delivered the job security guarantees the union had demanded."

I am sorry to say this since I was raised in a union family but these union guys are just killing the golden goose. Their demands in the 30's and 40's were necessary to receive a living wage and decent benefits. Today they want white collar money for blue collar work and that's just not competative and just drives their jobs offshore and casues plants to close.

Those stinking wussies gave in....

I don't see how this will really solve any problems GM is having... sure they are getting rid of all of their outstanding healthcare obligations, but at what price?

50 BILLION DOLLARS!

And then we're supposed to trust the union to run this healthcare fund? Yeah... that should work out well...

I think GM should just say we are closing and outsource the union won't learn until they do.

sure grant job secuirty to the unions ....makes perfect sense with gm looseing money faster then a chain smoking 70 year old in vegas ....should be a clause "sure your jobs are safe untill you finish sucking us dry then you should prolly look into mcdonalds "

Lifetime warranty is great. The transmissions need it.
