dealers?

They often do "dealer cash" which is the same as a typical consumer rebate, but given to the dealers. In turn, they almost always then can give that extra $2500 (or whatever) back to a customer just as an extra discount.

It's a way to give an extra discount without publically advertising a consumer rebate, i.e. "cash on the hood", and helping to lower resales, etc. Think of dealer cash as a blind rebate, you have to know about from the net or just from the dealer.

That said, right now, it also shows a $2500 consumer rebate on the GM site, for '08 DTS's.

That is typical GM because nothing on Cadillac site about it.

Yes, they often do, both for on purchases and leases. Sometimes as a cash rebate on both (otherwise known as cap cost reduction for a lease), sometimes special financing, and also sometimes special lease deals--all throughout a model year. Of course, the biggest deals are at model end, but the DTS is Cadillac's bread and butter car, with no shortage of inventory ever, with lots to rental and fleet sales as well, so they almost always have some kind of incentive.

It's usually a cash rebate of a couple grand year round, then with a bonus or special financing thrown in here or there. You just have to keep checking from time to time, on the different websites (like GM, directly, or Edmunds.com).

We just ordered a DTS Lux 3 package, our dealer says we should hopefully have it within 6 weeks. They told us there are no rebates or incentives now. I called Cadillac and they also said that there are none, and have no idea if any are coming soon. I found the GM site that this forum linked to and it states, DTS $3000. any ideas on if it is still going on? Thanks everyone.

A few years ago a dealer told me of a 2000$ rebate. I checked the web and found out it was a 3000$ rebate. I know it was a dealer rebate but it was still a tad dishonest.

I have been haggling with various dealers since December to order a DTS 1SE and I felt I was getting close to the best price possible.Today in my discussion with a dealer I was informed of a "Loyalty" discount of 1k.This coupled with my previous negotiations proved(To me anyway) to be a great deal.

Here's what I got.....
1SE performance.........50,990
Paint(White diamond) 995
ACC........................... 1695
Leather........................1295
Nav.............................1945

Total...........................56,920
Dealer discount -5500
"Loyalty Discount)..........-1000

Grand Total..................50,420

I don't think I could do a whole lot better than that so I pulled the trigger

Found out yeaterday, dealer is getting an additional $3000 in marketing support not advertised to the general public.

The $5500 discount the dealer is giving is what I would expect with no incentives at all. Tell them you'll pay $49,500 including taxes and fees.

That $3000 marketing support has been in effect for a couple of months now(See Edmunds New car Pricing)I tried to pry a little more of it out of the dealer but no luck. The deal in my previous post is very good for this area in upstate NY.

I have involved 6 dealers in trying to get this car and I believe it is the best I could do.......Your results may vary.......:)

Very True, its all in location. Here there are only two dealers within 75 miles of me and they are both within 5 miles of each other, so pricing they are very competitive when it comes to pricing.

I just hope mine arrives before the end of the month so I can take advantage of all the incentives as well.
