Sorry I cannot send you a PM, I do not have 20 posts,

I installed the Kenwood DNX 1700 in a 2002 Escalade.
I cannot use the GM disc changer, the Kenwood has a single disc player.
I also have MX radio so I do not use the changer .

i could help but i dont understand if there is a question here
the GM disc change is a slave unit and will only work with the factory unit so even connecting an XM adapter to your cd changer will not provide any signal with an aftermarket radio

GMBOUND Has sent me two PM's regarding the Installation of a Kenwood DNX7100 in a 2002 Escalade.
I am a new member to this board with only 9 posts. There for I can not post a response to his PM untill I have 20 or more post. I am trying to attract his attention with this post.
His first question is regarding the use of the stock in dash 6 disk changer.
the answer is No, the changer will not work with the Kenwood, It does have a single disk slot. However the DNX7100 has provisions for a IPod and USB connections. You could record tunes on an Ipod or CD. then play the CD's on an externial cd player with a USB connection. I find that with the MX radio there is a wide selection of stations, that is all I need.
His second question is asking if the MX radio is a seperate unit and what brand name it is.
Yes it is a seperate unit, I dont know the brand name, I bought the DNX7100 at Car Toys, they also did the install. All I saw was the bill.
The Kenwood also has Bluetooth for hands free phone.
The stearing wheel buttons work with the DNX7100.

Wow, I see it, sorry so late.
I have the DNX7100 installed now. I'm now looking for some good components to go along with it.
THanks for the response!
