View Full Version : Dent removal trick the body shops DON'T want you to know! Playdrv4me 09-21-07, 01:06 AM Since the Cat guys rarely make it out of their cave, I've been meaning to post this neat trick I found the last time I was in there. It really is one of the most useful things I've ever seen, and I have a couple of dings to try it on myself...
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-catera-cimarron-forum/117649-dent-removal-interesting.html Whoa whoa whoa slow down.........there's a catera forum? ZUUUUHHH?!
I just may try it. I'm taking an awful risk Vader, that had better work.

It seems credible.
It took me to the Opel/
cinnamon (sic) section.
That was quite incredible.
:cool2: I'm posting the direct link! (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/820799/secret_paintless_dent_removal_technique_easy_and_c heap/)
I had to clear my cookies again after visiting. That was a close one. Night Wolf 09-21-07, 06:04 AM Will definitly try this on the 2 small impressions i made on the upper portion of the Town Cars fender with my hand :) MN-STS-LOVER 09-21-07, 04:00 PM I does work but if there is a sharp crease the crease tends to stay. joekid417 09-21-07, 04:10 PM Hi To All of You Here. It has been some time since I have visited, I haven't really spent much time worrying about my Caddy until recently. I want to express my gratitude about the dent removal trick!!! I am involved in several different organization's to help and assist those that are less fortunate than I.(I'm not that fortunate to be honest, disabled due to an industrial accident, lucky to be walking at all) This keep's me occupied and thinking of other people's problem's instead of myself.
Recently I was helping a woman out and her ex-boyfriend assaulted my car. I'm really glad he hit my car instead of me, but it resulted in a fist print in the passenger door which wasn't there before. The entire situation really freaked me out! I did call the police to report it, and to prevent any further disruption to my life. I went to court to provide testimony but the guy never showed up. My insurance will cover the damages but I still have a deductible and I am on limited income. Thank you very much for this information!! I will try it out and if it works I will let you know. I hope it does because I need to replace my driver's side mirror because water has gotten behind the reflective material and the mirror is worthless. If any of you have any idea's about that I would greatly appreciate the input. The Cadillac shop wants $320.00 to replace the mirror, not including labor! I looked at a couple of the links offered here at this site but I was unable to find anything at all.
Thanks for this forum and thanks for the birthday email.(not really, I don't like getting older....lol)
Peace, joekid malcolm 09-21-07, 04:33 PM Go to a glass shop and have them cut a mirror and glue it on. Playdrv4me 09-21-07, 05:00 PM Hi To All of You Here. I didnt think you were an angry guy. Night Wolf 09-21-07, 10:16 PM I didnt think you were an angry guy.
lol... I was kinda surprised to the.... (lack of) thickness of the sheetmetal on the fender....
I was pushing the front of the car down to hear the squeek, I pushed hard and it made an impression in the fender!
I went to Kroger for fry ice..... nope :( Dadillac 09-22-07, 02:10 PM I went to Kroger for fry ice..... nope :(
Now go back and ask for "dry" ice:thumbsup:.

:haha: Night Wolf 09-23-07, 01:16 AM lol....
well, only place that carries it is Publix, $1.30/lbs
I tried it.... on the area ont he Town Cars fender... I thought it fixed it, but it really didn't that much... the Isuzu has a few dings, it did pull them out a bit, but they are still there.... there are a bunch of various dings on the Caddy, I tired a couple and it kinda helped some of them.
I dunno... defintily didn't totally fix it, and the reason why I got it was to try and fix the Town Car's slight impression..... 90Brougham350 09-23-07, 11:53 AM I'm skeptical, but I'll spend $20 to see if this actually works. It's better than spending hours with cat hair and finishing putty. I was able to bend back the sheet metal on my Sentra by yanking on it. God, that car was so unsafe. Playdrv4me 09-24-07, 02:24 AM I think the '98 LS has some prime candidates on the rear left fender, really little ones which is I think what this is designed for. Ill have to try it when it gets here. Night Wolf 09-24-07, 08:54 AM I'm skeptical, but I'll spend $20 to see if this actually works. It's better than spending hours with cat hair and finishing putty.
little less then a pound was $1.09 :)
It really didn't do anything tho :( I dunno why... I do want to try it again. Dadillac 09-24-07, 02:19 PM My wife recently bought an '07 328xi and within two weeks, it has a dent on the left rear door. It is near the end of the sheetmetal, where it curls under to form the inside section. So no getting any tools inside there to pop it out. I will try this dry ice method and see how it goes.
