Could someone please give me step by step instructions and if possible photos or link for how to replace AC compressor on 97 Catera,on mine sounds like the bearing is gone.
I will greatly appreciate .

Whatever is easier to do,already bought a used compressor for 100 bucks,but it is pain in the neck to take the old one out(unless there is a little trick to do it easier)out of my league anyways,my shop manuals are sitting about 175 KM away cant get to them till this sunday.
I tried to squirt wd40 on the thing the noise has gone away for now,i think what has happened is there is a leak in AC system and there is no gas now for last year or so,for that reason the thing is kindda ceasing up,I was wondering if pumping new gas (Cans from Canadian tire)would make the noise go away once the system is pressureised .

Got the car back from the shop(GM Dealer)they quoted me 158 bucks(Even refilled the Freon) when i got there to pick the car up service manager said they gave me wrong quote but they will have to stick to it now he said it should have been about six hundred bucks with the gas,because it took them 4.5 hours to do the job.
Got lucky i guess,the motor sounds so nice with the replacement compressor just love it. :halo:

$160 (including taxes) :D and Including Freon i dont think there was much in the system because the compressor was leaking gas.
