I have a 98 catera and was wondering if 20 x 8.5 would fit. I want to buy online, it will probly be cheaper then getting it from an offline retail. Anyone know how much installation would cost? Probably drilling etc.
Thanks.

Yes they will fit, check around there is a guy here that has 20s on his and they seem to fit with no rubbing issues, now with a 20" rim you are going to feel every crack on the road in you butt... and I have a feeling the suspension is going to go faster, I went from 17 to 18s and the difference was Day and Night, as now its all bumpy and before it was smooth and sporty...
You may have to get some spacers for the front if you start rubbig on the struts... and I know for a fact that saab spacers fit your car... you can get them from TireRack.com or look for H&R and even Eibach Pro...
Good luck with your choice.

thanks for the info. You know how much installation would cost me, like an estimate?
Thanks.

Drilling? Installation? I think for you it will be cheaper to get one shop to buy the rims and install them that way you don't have to worry about having bought rims with too much or too little offset or the wrong bolt pattern.

You will need an offset of about 20-25mm with 8.5" rim and if you have to drill them for the proper bolt pattern the company that you buy them from can do that for you... otherwise I have never done something like that so no idea what it could cost but instalation of tires mount and balance can be around 20$/rim... the drilling well that is quite complicated and can cost you more but I guess it wont be more then 200-300for the whole thing drilled and installed.

I run 20" x 8.5" on my 2000 with no rubbing issues. The one thing I would say is make sure your suspesion is in good shape before going to a rim this size. The heavier rim can make existing problems worse, I know from experience. Aswell run some good quality brake pads. As far as for the ride, it wasnt as bad as i expected. Ive been in other vehicles with the same rim size that were much worse. The Cat seems to do a pretty good job handling the lower profile tire. I went with a 225/35/20.
