I have seen two for sale in as many weeks on EBay motors (one was Firemist). Wow, they were awesome vehicles. When I was a kids our neighbor had one that was what I recall to be yellow with a gold-green top and interior. Very cool :cool2:

This 1974 Talisman on eBay with 27k miles and the rare dual factory airbags. Black on black too! Very cool!

I also have some pictures of an out of the box 74 Talisman with around 10k miles in triple orange that was on eBay maybe a couple of years ago! :)

No but seriously, I do own a shitload of orange stuff. Like, clothes, my bed sheets, my windows theme, rugs, wash cloths... yeah. I love me some orange.

I've even been able to (hopefully) swindle my girlfriend into allowing orange tux/white dress. Hooray!

How realistic is it that the black talisman only has 26 thousand miles on it?

Robb, I have pictures of a 1974 Talisman from eBay a couple of years ago with 10k miles. I saved the pictures on my computer - triple orange. Lovely. :) I owned a 1976 Fleetwood Brougham with the airbag option 6-7 years ago which I purchased with 9,700 miles and sold it with 12,000 miles - it was brand new. :) There was a 1976 Fleetwood Brougham on eBay about a year ago with 300 actual miles - better than brand new - never used at all! :) These cars exist. The 10-20k cars are fun to own and drive if you want to enjoy a cocktail and a big giant steak at your favorite vintage supper club and then take a field trip and pretend its 1976 again. :)

I think the orange 74 belonged to President Nixon.
I've seen that quoted somewhere on the net.
Correct???

I know as a Cadillac enthusiast, I'm supposed to be drooling over the Talisman package, but I don't see what the big deal is. Talisman was just an interior package that gave you extremely plush surroundings. It was obviously marketed to working professionals with the front center console with witting tablet, but the thousand dollar interior options seem out of place for something that could have also been a family sedan.

The options would seem more at home if they were standard on the Fleetwood 75, but Talisman seats were the only Talisman option for the 75. Personally I think the Fleetwood 75 should have been called the Fleetwood Talisman, just to give it a name besides Cadillac Fleetwood Series Seventy-Five.

The Talisman is the world's most fitting car to listen to a little Steely Dan in.

Sven, I don't think you're right about the Talisman interior being available on the Series 75 Limousine. It was a Fleetwood Brougham factory option only.

Steely Who? Chad, you've got it all wrong - a Talisman is the perfect car to listen to a little Elvis or Frank or Engleburt Humperdink. :)

Steely Dan, one of the most crucial mid '70s American bands IMO. The perfect combination of rock and jazz, a very '70s sound to me. Frank was '60s (atleast to me), Elvis died when Steely Dan was big and I've never heard any Engelbert Humperdink.

No one who owned a 74 Fleetwood Talisman ever heard of Steely Don. The name kind of rings a bell but I'd sure never have anything but what a mid-70's Cadillac was made for - cruising BIG with some Frank or Dean or Sammy or Elvis. You want some swinging, swaying, groovy Talisman style jazz - maybe some Julie London or some Bobby Troup. These are the guys who owned Cadillacs and drove Cadillacs and the owners of these cars, I guarantee it, had at least a few 8-tracks of these famous classic loungy crooners. You can listen to what you want in your ...Buick... :)

It wasn't, but the Talisman cloth seats were available for $1800 and leather for $2400. The other interior features weren't available.

This one is in fantastic condition. I looked at a Talisman for sale in 1981, but it had been parked outside and the black velour was shabby. Bought a regular Fleetwood instead for $1500 and spent more than that on it to keep it running. Great riding car. You couldn't hear or feel the engine at idle. After 5 breakdowns in 2 months, I bought a Turbo Sunbird and eventually donated the Caddy to the Salvation Army.

Does anyone know what country that is?

I had a friend who once owned a 1974 Cadillac Coupe Deville with the D'Elegance package.

That was an ENORMOUS car, I can't imagine how imposing a Fleetwood Talisman would seem, since its on an even longer wheelbase.

I remember seeing it in the brochure, but I'd love to see (and own) it in real life. If I only had a big garage.

I test drove one like it about two years ago, but it was a Brougham d'Elegance instead of a Talisman. A guy here in Thousand Oaks had it for sale and a CLC member in Germany was interested in buying it but wanted a club member to inspect it for her. I obliged, and she ended up buying the car and exporting it to Germany. Driving it was quite the 70s experience!

Love that beige 76 with the black top! Chad, cancel that 79 Seville Elegante I ordered, I'll take a 76 Talisman! :) Hartford Guy, I have a ton of pictures of that 74 organge car - both inside and out - if you want more shots of it. Merry Christmas everyone! :)
