View Full Version : CTS-V and Travel Trailer Johan Ahlqvist 09-09-07, 08:30 AM Hello!
Massege from Sweden. Here in Sweden with ourer towingrules it is ok to towing a trailer with Cadillac CTS-V. Cadillac Europe has also sent me an dispension for towing with my V. It is an amazing towing car. Here is som pics from my V and T@B XL. I love it! Great way to get out and enjoy the country roads! urbanski 09-09-07, 09:52 AM well, never thought i'd see that well, never thought i'd see that
:yeah: :D darkman 09-09-07, 09:59 AM Cool. Put some FG2s on the trailer. CTSV_Rob 09-09-07, 11:11 AM Not sure what to think. On one hand cool you can have your V when you go camping, on the ohter I never thought I would see it.
Not something I would do but have fun! V-Smooth 09-09-07, 11:44 AM well, never thought i'd see that
:yeah: best of both worlds right there, get 'r done... thebigjimsho 09-09-07, 12:51 PM I'll take a Swedish massage!
But that's a pretty sweet setup. Really, the only thing that holds us back is the diff. We've got more hp than many trucks towing much more. Cool beans! Is that your portable shaggin' wagon??? RunningOnEMT 09-09-07, 12:56 PM fudge... if it'll town that it'll tow a jetski... MY PLANS JUST GOT A LOT CHEAPER!!! damn, thats a pretty big trailer...and the rear end isn't even sagging  where'd you get the hitch from? I like your reverse lighting. Are the red and rear fog light? Pics of your turn signal marker under the fender V badge would be great. :)
Funny, on the Corvette forum they'd be screaming "abuse" seeing their car towing a vacation home.

It is a Monofelx towing system "http://www.monoflex.se" the site have a English version too. It works and fits perfekt, easy to demount the ball.:):)http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif Johan Ahlqvist 09-09-07, 02:40 PM I like your reverse lighting. Yes, it is fog lights. Pics of turnsignal are coming later. Greetings, how rare are Cadillac's in Sweden? rand49er 09-09-07, 07:37 PM  I love it! Yes, it is fog lights. Pics of turnsignal are coming later.
Hmmm, interesting. I might have to see about getting those. I'm always amazed that rear foglights aren't required in the US. When I'm following a European car in rain/mist/fog/snow it's amazing what a difference the rear foglights make compared to just the regular rear running lights. The rear fogs make it so much easier to see the cars ahead of you through the poor visibility.
Really, the only thing that holds us back is the diff.
That and the transmission. The Tremec is not a towing transmission. I just saw a discussion recently that the Ram SRT-10 with the 6-speed manual carries NO tow rating at all. Dodge then brought out an SRT-10 with the same automatic that is used with the Cummins and that has a tow rating. (Countdown to off-topic comment about SRT products being inferior... 10... 9... 8... )As someone else said in the thread I was reading, "The T56 is NOT a truck transmission. It's not intended to deal with the kind of high torque, low speed, constant duty operation that is REALITY in a pickup or any vehicle towing a load."
I'm honestly surprised GM of Europe would OK the CTS-V to tow, but I guess if it works, it works! rblimas 09-09-07, 08:13 PM fudge... if it'll town that it'll tow a jetski... MY PLANS JUST GOT A LOT CHEAPER!!!
the regular cts can tow a jetski.
never thought i would see a cts-v with the euro lights on it.

torque tows not horse power:yup: holy hell, I just read the website install instructions for the cts...they say it'll tow 4000lbs  I mean damn, thats pretty good...not that I'll ever be trying it. thebigjimsho 09-09-07, 11:52 PM the regular cts can tow a jetski.

torque tows not horse power:yup:Hey Sandimas, yeah I know. Guess I should've typed it differently. Anyway, we've got more torque too...... Are you kidding me. I don't know how they market the V in Sweden but I don't think that is what Cadillac intended when they designed the V. :thehand: GMBOUND 09-10-07, 12:04 AM Speechless..
All I have to add is, I'm glad we're selling V's overseas!
Good luck in your travels That trailer is a beaut. Picture the weekend you could have with a setup like that. Sweet living quarters and you can cruise in style. I would love to hit all the campgrounds with that. You'd get as much attention as the million dollar campers.
Nice job. captapp 09-10-07, 02:21 AM Looks good, maybe I'll see some snow birds or weekend river runners with V's around my town. Johan Ahlqvist 09-10-07, 02:56 AM Greetings, how rare are Cadillac's in Sweden?
New Cadillacs are rare in Sweden, STS from 1992 - 2001 is the most common model. SRX model is the most common from the new looking Cadillacs. There is about 5 ex of CTS-V here in Sweden. I realy hope that Cadillac will succed here in Sweden, they realy building great cars. The Sweden built BLS sale i horrible, including that Cadillac sales around 250 cars every year. Befor BLS sales were around 20 cars every year. Import Cadillacs from the 90īs from Deutchland is popular. OldRoadDawg 09-10-07, 08:53 AM Wonder how it would go trying to convince the SM at at a Cadillac dealership in Sweden to replace the whining diff... and how long it would take to get the replacement. |
