Ok, considering I sold Rob the damaged Stage III before I was aware of the damage, I felt an obligation to do something other than give his money back.

I have made arrangements to keep My shop space and lift for another week or so, heres My pitch.......

I am going to build Rob a kit, and its honestly easier for Me to do several than just one. So, I wanted to see if anyone was interested in ordering a Stage III kit.

I can have these done very quickly, and shipped out within a couple weeks.

This will be the last of the kits for awhile, not sure how long. So if any are interested, now is the time.

I will take orders up until midnite Tuesday, the 11th of September. The Stage III is $499.00 painted and $599.00 powdercoated. The powder coating adds a week to the process.

Since We are moving and back and forth, here are both numbers.
740-745-5448 and 740-366-9513

Thank you all.
Doug

I bought one New In Box from a seller who is selling their V. Looks great. Can't wait to have it installed.

For all those who are close to running out of warrantee, now would be the time to get in on this. I'm hoping the Stage III will let my diff live a lot longer, now that I don;t have the General's generosity to lean on :crybaby:

I would like one Doug. I had been kicking myself in the ar$e for not getting one. Now for my excuse I have a project Jimmy (hence the username) in mod hell right now and I am trying to keep from going there in the V. Now take no offense, I am not calling your Fine Product a part of mod hell. But we all know how it starts; speaking of which your Fine Product is actually my second improvement purchase for the V. I have the UUC short shifter begging to be put in, just gotta get the Jimmy driveable again (gotta have wheels to get beers).

For those that were saddened to see that Doug would not be offering these should jump on this. I am in need of a few more souls for selling mine to take full advantage of Doug being generous enough to offer these.

C'mon, guys, jump on this!

ANYBODY even close to 50k and the end of their warranty better seriously consider this. Everybody's diff has a clock, and it's ticking. Pay $500 now or pay a little over $2K later. Screw the bling, this is a no brainer.

Doug, As I mentioned to you earlier I am going to definitely need a complete traction package rear end set-up. That being said if I need to buy the stage III now in order not to miss the boat I will do so. Let me know. Thanks

Can I order only a set of spacers for the cradle rear attach points? I bought my Stage III used and it didn't come with the rear set. I made some 303 stainless spacers a la the sticky DIY$17 wheel hop thread, and I still get a nasty wheel hop. I suppose I could machine my own up, but time is $$$. Any other reason you can think I still get serious wheel hop? Thx.

Doug, I want the whole enchiludie. The whole shebootie. And all the shebang. I'm tawken bout the Traction Package. You're gonna be offerin that down the road, right? Right? Raaaaeeht.

Again, my concerns would really be about increased noise (whining) and whether it does away with the clunk. Yea, yea, call me a grammy mammy all's you want, but if I'm puttin down a good chunk a money, I don't want more whine and clunk, ya know. I don't think that's such a crazy notion, is it? I mean - the whine, the clunk - that's something I'm tryna get rid of, along with the wheel hop, of course, but I know you've already got that taken care of. And if I's was a grammy, I sure as hell wouldn't be puttin down for something like this, would's I? So don't call me grammy mammy. Okay? I changed me mind. I dohn wanna be called gwammy mammy. I dohn wike it.

Just got off the phone with Doug and ordered the Stage III( minus the pinion support ) and I can't wait to get this on the car.

Does anyone have any pictures of the car up on a lift with this kit installed? The pinion support is pretty easy to figure out, I'm just trying to visualize where the main brace goes. I'm pretty new to the car, so I'm trying to put the pieces together in my brain. Doug's website has some close-up pictures, but I don't see any full rear end shots to get the "big picture". The website also says that there's a huge reduction in body roll, so I'm curious how that works.

I guess for the long term I'm interested in one of these, but I've still got 25k miles on my warranty, and I haven't seen enough definitive information about how the kit works, what it is bracing, how effective it is, etc to decide right now that I need to order one. The most recent testimonial I read (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/1208602-post142.html) said that installing the Stage 3 did not fix the wheel hop. I haven't seen any comments on whether or not NVH is increased. Trying to search for KARS information brings up bazillions of threads in which people talk about it, but very few with useful feedback on how it works.

I would recommend PM'ing rgd. He has one on his and he tracks the V, maybe able to give you the insight your looking for.

CTSV05

First, its too late now.

Second, I never claim to FIX the wheelhop, as there are so many variables involved there is no 100% fix, although, My Traction Package does seem to have done it.

I do claim however a significant reduction in hop as well as a nice side benefit of reduced body roll.

Anything attached to the diff is going to transfer more noise into the cabin and if you have a loud diff now, it will get worse, if My kit is installed properly it will be a small amount.

I will reiterate, there is no 100% cure for the hop, what My kit does is stabilize the cradle, ties it into the body/frame, then you still need to deal with the oscillations of the suspension. Although much reduced.

Is this only for the CTS-V or does it help or fit on the STS-V?

The STS-V already has Doug's idea incorporated into it, minus the pinion support stuff. Look underneath your STS-V...see those 2 long subframe connectors on either side of the IRS, thats basically what the KARS kit does. The CTS-V is built on a different platform (Sigma) and the STS-V (Epsilon) platform allowed GM to build that rear end feature into the design.

HUH? I thought the CTS, STS and SRX were all build on Sigma with just slightly different dimensions? They all use the same diff.

Is the last kit sold yet? And does it take welding to install or is it all bolt in? My warranty ends in December so I am worried about blowing the rear next summer. I probably won't install it until next spring.

When I spoke to Doug there are 2 plates that have to be welded. It is highly recommended that you weld them on the 04's regardless. If you don't drive aggressively you can leave them off the 05's but in my situation I think I will weld them on just in case.

CTSV05
09-15-07, 08:21 PM
Yes, the '04 is merely sheetmetal where the kit's outriggers bolt on.

The '05's and up have weld nuts up inside the 'frame'.

So the '04 is MANDATORY the '05's and up are recommended. Any decent muffler shop can handle this task after you locate the area for the plates.
