Congrats man, sounds like a sweet ride. 5.0 or 5.7? And is it the D'Elegance?

Please feel free to ignore my question, but 29,000 miles? Wow! How much did you pay? Post some pics for admiring eyes when you get a chance, and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the big times!! Nothing feels good than to drive a big body Brougham!! Especially a 1990. I miss mine. But I'll get her on the road before you know it.

Is it Diplomat Blue? I thought Diplomat Blue was a tad darker?

Here is a picture of my Father's 1992 in Diplomat Blue:

Nice! I still think the 90-92 Broughams are some of the best looking Cadillacs ever.

It changes a lot in the light, but it's not really a midnight, almost black color. More if a medium blue I guess.

Congrats on the purchase! That era fleetwood is the best looking car ever! Wish I can get my hands on one while they're still out there!

Hi there,

well thanks for welcoming me so nicely to this forum. I have seen most of you post on here before I bought this one, but I am very happy to see all of your interest in this one.

Well, here is the story. I have always wanted a 90-92 Brougham, even when they were still out there new. I actually went to DeVoe Cadillac in Naples and "negotiated" a 31.000 $ Brougham down to 23.000 $ (which I didn't have either, I was 26). Didn't stop thinking of them, but was in automotive PR since then so always had two company cars. The "classics" were more exotic then, Sunbeam Tigers, Daimler 250s, 67 Lincoln Continental Convertibles, Mercedes 280 Coupés, and a Fiat Spider.

Now that I left the corporate world, I needed "wheels". Bought a 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton for wife and (baby) daughter, so that they are happy and safe. Now starting up my own business, the Brougham idea came up again, but I wasn't going to put up with a 70/80.000 mile example that needs work. I started "Automotive PR of America" and need wheels that don't damage the reputation.

So this one came along. 29.000 miles, real miles, proverbial little old lady from Manhattan, always serviced at Martin Cadillac in Englewood, 10 minutes from my home! But sold to Missouri last year, put on eBay now when I first saw it. It isn't with me yet, so all the pics I have are in the - very comprehensive - eBay ad that was posted a bit further up. I was looking for a long time, did not want white, neither outside nor in. Not so keen on red, so blue and grey were my main options.

Will go to Missouri and pick it up myself and drive it home 1200 miles to NJ. Will make it a "road trip" through Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park. We are Europeans and have just moved to the US two years ago, so doíng the long trip in a 90s Caddy just seems right.

Will keep all of you posted about what it looks like and feels like. And BTW: I never even sat in a Brougham in all my life....:D And for all of you wanting to know, bidding went to 10.300 as you could see on eBay and I went a little above that.

Funny you mention DeVoe in Naples, FL. Whenever I visit relatives down there, I always make a point to stop by. The parts department kindly gave me two DeVoe Cadillac dealership "plates" and I put one on the front of my '88 Brougham (in Diplomat Blue). I've attached a pic.

Congrats on your excellent choice. I'm on the lookout for a '90-'92 myself. Next to the 1979 Fleetwood Brougham, those '90-'92 era Broughams are the pinnacle of Cadillac's beauty of design.

I like it man. A 5.7 is on my wish list too. Don't worry about the naysayers who say you paid too much. You are a businessman and you know value when you see it!!

Thanks. So far nobody has commented on price and as a matter of fact, value is relative. I wanted to go for the best I could afford (many lessons learnt the other way round) and this one was very much like the one I always wanted. That it spent most of its 29.000 miles 10 minutes away from here was a bit of a pull as well. But at the end of the day, going for a top car like that in a 90s Brougham (3.500 to 12.000) is a lot more affordable than in - say - German machinery, where a 450 SEL 6.9 can range from 5.000 to 35.000 $. Anyway, thanks to all your wishes and I will keep you posted on the scenic drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains back to Joisy. Axel
