The power antenna on my 96 sts is not working properly? When i turn the radio off I can hear the antenna motor running but the antenna doesnt retract into the car?? Any suggestions that doesnt include going to a dealer and being ripped off? thanks

I have a 96 sts and it is similar to that. I turn off the car, and it kinda grinds its way down and sometimes sticks at about 2 inches from all the way in. I need to take it apart and white lithium the hell out of it. In the case of yours, either the gear inside is stripped out or the screw fell out of the gear and the gear has come loose. All of which, you have to remove it fromt he car and open it up to find out for sure.
