Hey Guys,
Does anyone here know how to change to top speed limiter on a 2000 STS? I have done a few mods on my car, one of them is 18" rims with 40 series ZR tires, and I would like to go a little faster than 130.

The dealer may be able to change it with a Tech2, but good luck trying to find one that will. Could be a liability problem.

You need a GM Tech2 and GM programming software or Techline terminal. And a very nice dealer willing to do the update.

GM Tech2. This one happens to be ours.

What else can a GM Tech2 change on a 00 STS? Could it change the overall tire diameter size? My package of wheels an tires makes my overall diameter about an inch smaller. I've been wanting to fix the speedometer, tach, and the odometer. I brought my car earlier (when I had installed the new rims and tires) to my local GM dealership - Island Chevrolet, and they said they couldn't do this. So could that meant that they might not be able to change the limiter?
