View Full Version : Who's got vanity plates on their car? I~LUV~Caddys8792 08-22-07, 08:05 PM I'm thinking about buying some vanity for the new (to me) car. I've got a few choices, but I think "BRN2RUN" is my top choice. I was wondering if there are any negative side effects that come from having vanity plates on a car? I've never had 'em before, and I've always wanted them.
So who on here has them? What do you think? Worth it? Not worth it? I've gotta buy new plates for the car anyways, I might as well spend the extra dough and get the vanities I've always wanted. pimpin88 08-22-07, 08:51 PM I was going to get vanities until I found out it is an extra $30 per year even after you purchased the plates.
Screw that......... malcolm 08-22-07, 08:57 PM http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z263/dcm515/license.jpg Playdrv4me 08-22-07, 09:07 PM http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z263/dcm515/license.jpg

My plates are all business related so you probably don't care what they say. The real question is what will I get on the new 89 Brougham if I buy it. Hmmmm Highway Star 08-22-07, 11:05 PM Have had them in the past, but are now way over priced for what they are. Kinda like everything else these days... AlBundy 08-22-07, 11:31 PM Remember this:

You wanna knock this shit off once and for all there Dave? eldorado99 08-22-07, 11:56 PM I bad want "GLBL WMR", but my car my get keyed. RunningOnEMT 08-23-07, 12:50 AM i have alumni plates from university of maryland that read
LS6CTS with the terp mascot on them... boring i know caddycruiser 08-23-07, 01:17 AM I keep wanting something, but can never come up with what would be 1) cool, and 2) not need too much explaining or lead to any embarrassment.
OR, specific to Delaware, I really want to get a lower number plate (86999 or lower) so I can get one of the original smaller black & white tags. They're sort of a status symbol in the state, as is any low number for the same reason, but I just think they look great and are unique. Thing is, it's hard to get a lower number and they're frequently sold at various high prices (usually anywhere from close to a $1000 to $100k+).

Hence, I stick with the surprisingly okay even number 6-digit blue & yellow standard tag... illumina 08-23-07, 01:48 AM PNS-CAR

FSo what did I miss? Does Chad = fannystang II??? gdwriter 08-23-07, 03:35 PM I thought about getting plates that said "CRUELLA," but haven't yet. Maybe I'll see if it's available. The operations manager at my office has a '79 Corvette with the plates "GO GRNMA."
A guy from my old car club in Arizona has these on his three '72 Impalas (http://www.stillruns.com), Archie, Edith and Meathead (the convertible):

Scotty7751 08-23-07, 03:50 PM one thing you have to worry about with the plates is if a person hates you they will be able to tell its you by your plates. friend got into some fights about being notice with his license plate I~LUV~Caddys8792 08-23-07, 03:55 PM one thing you have to worry about with the plates is if a person hates you they will be able to tell its you by your plates. friend got into some fights about being notice with his license plate
Good point. But on the other side, I can count the number of cars like mine in my town on one hand, so it's not exactly hard to identify it as mine. MN-STS-LOVER 08-23-07, 04:10 PM I've always been a fan of "IDOXLR8" saw it in Hot Rod mag. on 30's Ford coupe when I was 14 and always wanted to use it. LDO for my 77 Eldo
RYD for a generic 'ride'
CAD for 'no specific' Cadillac....
Need to get DVL for the Deville and SVL for the Seville...
Z replaces E'S and not 'necessarily' ZE... :) Jonas McFeely 08-23-07, 06:17 PM Someone's gotta explain that to me.
It means that the owner of that plate enjoys dining on vagina. MUF DVR = Eating Puss.
Although a "muff" is more of a down and dirty, mangy, beat up, stanky vag. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Ive had my share.
Mine say CBERRY1 on Protect The Florida Panther plates, because i love kitties. For Casselberry, the city i live in. I tried to get DOOD WTF, but the lady said no. Im still have some ideas...
Oh and the Gas Slut sticker on the window is now gone, and replaced with CadillacOwners.com

It's from the Cheech and Chong movie Up in Somke and it's been said it really was Cheech's plate at the time. Doubt it would make it past the Plate Police these days but would be cool to have. Might piss off the Mrs. though.

I never understood why "Touring" would have more horses than "Sport" -- seems backwards to me. gdwriter 08-25-07, 03:40 AM Betty, Hoover and I are in Lewiston, ID for their Hot August Nights. At the cruise tonight, I saw a '68 Camaro with TYRFRYR. That's one of the more clever ones I've seen lately. slk230mb 08-25-07, 10:23 AM My dad has had 'JMM 50' since he's 21. Initial and Year of birth. Pretty boring, but he loves it. I'd have vanity plates if I could think of something clever. Maybe my next car. gdwriter 08-26-07, 01:41 AM Got pictures of it today:
