today after having two rusted tranny lines replaced we drove the coupe i bought yesterday for the first time.. it has 50k orignal miles on it... it sat for the last year or so.

After replaceing the bad tranny line,, we toped it off with fluid.. its full. Drove the car about 5 miles, it seemed to shift fine. Then all the sudden it stoped shifting past 1st gear.... and slipped a bit. Seems odd because it didnt do it at first,, maybe it had to get hot or something. I guess we'll have to drop the pan,, look for chunks/things that dont belong refill with fluid and try again. Any last resort things I can do before writeing this tranny off?

What are the rebuild/replacement options with these trannys? How much money should I expect to spend?

If the trans is bad, just change it with a junkyard unit. Transmissions are easy to change, and your yard will give you a warranty if the new one is bad.
