anybody have a source or any ideas on how to get some wider steel wheels to mount the stock hubcaps or wire hubcaps on? i love the classic look of the solid hubcaps on my 79 coupe and the wires on my 1990 brougham , but i wouldn;t mind getting some more tire under there and giving th ecar some width and better handling.

I beilieve the Caprice 9C1 cop cars have 15x8's and you can put the stock hubcaps on them. Elias can elaborate better though.

The 5 lug Suburban and 1500 series Van wheels are 15X8.

The 9C1 wheels are 15X7. I had them with the wire hubcaps while I was waiting for my new OZ wheels to come in:

Nice car, but a Fleecewood will always drive like a bathtub. I still love them.

Gee, that's the same comment I use to hear said about the Corvette Stingray. You've got'a chuckle.

Back on point..... Wheels are my next major purchase, and I was wondering if the 8 in wide wheels would fit ok without any mods to the skirt clamps. I'm not going radical, just 17x8. Seems like othes have had good success with the 17 in wheel combination.

I had 17" x 8.5" Impala SS wheels on my '91 FWB with 255/50/17's and had absolutely no issues with rubbing or anything and mine was also 3" lower than stock.

the OZ's look great. what are the details on those? size, backspacing, bolt pattern, lug sizing, etc? and where did you get them? i still don't have a definite understanding of what size wheel fits on the 1990 brougham. the lugs and the metric thing are throwing me for a loop. lots of different answers out there. these would be going on a 1990 brougham, so any issues with sizing and fit that you can think of? seeing those impala wheels on the older brougham in the posts has got me thinking now, the wire hupbcaps and steelies might be going on ebay.

thanks for any details.

The OZ Nova wheels are now discontinued. They were a BMW bolt pattern but I had them redrilled for 5X127 (5X5). They are light and strong, 18X8.5 with 235/50/18 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. I put some Cadillac centercaps on them.

My previous set of wheels was 18X8 Enkei SST-2. They were polished forged and had a 5X127 (5X5) bolt pattern. 255/45/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S was wrapping those.

Lastly, I had a set of OEM 17X8.5 Impala SS wheels that I had chromed. I also had a set of custom Cadillac centercaps made for them. I had 255/50/17 BFG tires on them.

Are you referring to the impala ss? Same thing as the Fleetwood - GM killed it off to make more trucks and surburban uhttack vehicles. :want:
