The plastic part of the key that fits through the keychain has broken. Can I get Cadillac to replace the key under warranty?

Maybe, but I doubt it---Abuse/wear & tear/etc.

I dropped and smashed the lock remote into small pieces recently to the wifes SRX. Cost me $115.

My wife broke hers. Bought one on eBay for $10, dealer reprogrammed it for free (after I pleaded-embarassingly :bighead: )

You or the dealer can program key in a few seconds. No equipment needed. Don't be embarassed. Dealer will also program FOB for free if you are one of their regular customers. Otherwise, they charge about $40 or so. Takes an electronic device and 5 minutes.
