It's Hurricane season! Are we getting this one? It looks like it could definitely be a threat to Florida by early next week. It's predicted to reach winds of around 110mph...

i don't think it's gonna be too bad. they are usually worse later on in the season, although this one has changed it's course quite a few times already.

I'm not going to worry about this one. It looks like it is going west. The price is going up because of worry's about the storm. Come on, the storm is no where near us. The price of oil is getting a little too low, so they are making up reasons to hike it up.

Well.. There's a very good chance this storm hits Florida.. It's moving west but most storms eventually turn north and go east.. So this is definitely one to watch. It'll be a fairly strong hurricane when all is said and done...

Sal,

No worry about this one. It is going nowhere near Florida.

I've been living here in Florida a good many years and formally from northern New Jersey. I have learned that unless they are taking a direct aim and shot towards Florida, I don't worry about them. I know you are fairly new in Florida from Long Island.

I'm looking forward to seeing you in November.

Yeah, it's going way south. It's unlikely for it to hit us this point.. Yup, seeya in November!

I grew up in Puerto Rico, saw a major hurricane (Hugo in 1989), and I NEVER take a hurricane track for granted. Anybody here remember what Hurricane Jeanne did on 2004? (curved away, then did a loop and then hit Florida)

And what if the track looks like Wilma did in 2005? (beat up the Yucatan peninsula, then crossed over the Gulf into Florida from the west)

I'm keeping a watchful eye on Dean.
