Was browsing Youtube and found this awesome video. This thing actually takes 2 pulls on a 50 shot of NOS, then 6 more pulls on a 100 shot before blowing up.

+1 for GEO.

Enjoy!

50hp shot = 63hp! Awesome!

Excellent music...intro leading to Black Betty and finishing up with some Skynyrd! :)

Why does 47 + 50 = 63 ?

Yea.....I've always wondered how they figured the nitrous numbers...

Maybe its because they're listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd?!

Why does 47 + 50 = 63 ?

50psi of N20.....then 100psi of N20.....just jamming that shit in there. That poor 4 banger hadnt a chance.

NO NO NO...Each shot is metered the size of the orifice dertmines the amount of HP the shot is.
To get a proper 100 shot or 50 or 200 shot, your bottle pressure needs to be right about 1100 PSI.
The cooling effect and the amount of N20 amounts to the HP gain
My 100 Shot jets netted me on average 80 to 90 HP at the wheels on a dyno. Which mean the shot was more at the crank.
They probablly figured it out years ago what size orfice it took at 1100 psi to get the proper amount of power.
Too much N20 and not enough fuel equals...
GEO METRO...
That shot probablly netted 63 HP, it was a wet shot and it cooled the intake temp.
I f-ing love it!!!
I want to blow something up now.

Reminds me of a story from the MR2 boards about someone who lost all the oil in his motor on his way home. The motor had been on its way out and he already had a low-mile JDM motor waiting to go in it (even such a motor costs little), so he figured "now's as good a time as any". Before he replaces it, he decides to blow the old motor (which was valueless now, having had hundreds of thousands of miles and now the trauma of a run with no oil. Still with no oil, he simply floors the thing in neutral. It took seven minutes at 7650 RMP for the little 4AGE motor to crap out. With no oil. That's a durable motor right there!

So...a hundred hp shot is still... ... ...not a hundred horsepower?

Everything is crank rated. a 100 shot is a 100 horespower, 50 is 50 and so on and so forth.
Bottle pressure can actually change the HP,
If you look at mine and figure in about 18% loss through the drivetrain.
90 RWHP is 106 at the crank.

Sooooo...a 100hp shot is now a hundred and SIX horsepower?!

I understand all the technical info but why did they take a car with a baseline of 47 HP, spray a 50 shot of N2o and only end up with 63 HP Should we be close to 100?

Whenever I read the title of this thread, I get a mental image of a Metro taking a pull of NOS off of a giant automotive bong, like it's inhaling it through the grille. And it makes me laugh inside.

I think the shot made an extra 63 HP. It probablly had a lot of pressure.
So 47 plus 63.

Hmmm if that's the case then Ohhhhhhhh but that's not the way I took it when they displayed the HP. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. That would make more sense though.
