Yeah, I know it's time for the 08's and they gotta get rid of the 07's, but this is ridiculous. Here in Chicago, a dealer ran an ad today for a new 07 STS with an MSRP of $46,495 and a sale price of $31,495. For you math challenged folks out there, that's a 32% discount. This must mean that my loaded 06 must be somewhere in the low to mid $20's. From now on, I'm buying last year's model.

i have been driving cadillacs and lincolns for over 20 yrs now. and i have never ever bought a new one. always bought 1-2 yr old clean low mile car with plenty of warrenty left. i have saved a minimum 50% of the retail sticker price. an example is the '05 V8 1sg STS i picked up 4 months ago for $28,500 from a bmw dealer in orlando florida. the car is mint and i have already brought it back to cadillac twice for little things to be fixed. the car looks and drives like a brand new car. if you look around, do your homework and have patience you can come out way ahead.

I paid the same ($28,390) back in Feburary for my 05 STS 1SG with head ups and ACC! The lac only had 15K miles and first sold May of 06 (Very late sell)! MSRP of $63,135. Do that math and that is 55% off for a lac that is 9 months old!

The bottom line is every car you see on the road is a used car. (unless it is a test drive)

actually i live in an area where wealthy seniors buy expensive cars keep them for one year and trade them in. so i really have a lot to pick from. most of these cars are very low miles and garaged kept clean as a whistle cars. i bought an '93 eldo, 95 mark 8, 98 eldo, 01 ETC and now an '05 STS. the best part of the deal is after i purchase these cars i go over it with a fine toothed comb for about a week. i make a list of things i don't like and want fixed or replaced and bring it in for warrenty work while i get a loaner car. so basically after all is said and done i have an almost new car for less then half sticker.

Any input on current STS 07' dealer inventories? I don't subscribe to Auto News anymore.

I also saw the Chicago Tribune Cadillac offer of $15,000 off a new STS. But I would NOT bet one penny on the chances of getting such a deal form them.

there are some '06 sts cars still around here (never titled) that are roughly 15k off sticker.

If you get on auto trader and search new 05 STS you will find 30 new still for sale. WTF! I would want 30K off sticker.
