Hello fellow Cadi lovers, I am new to the board and Im pretty upset that I didnt find this site earlier. My issue right now is with my trunk. I have a 1994 Cadillac Seville SLS. The trunk used to work fine and one morning I closed my trunk and waited for it to automatically close itself and it never did. Does anybody know how or how much to fix this? Any help would be appreciated...Thank you

You can take the part out that the motor is on and twist it down by hand. Use the search button at the top of the page and youll be able to find something on it here about how to fix it, that problem has come up several times.

I just had that problem last month...the dealer installed a new switch (it's part of the truck motor)

Do you know how much it costs for the new part?

Try working the switch back and forth a couple of times. sometimes it comes back to life. If not, try a junkyard, I got a complete motor assembly and bracket for $15

i had this problem just a few weeks ago..
So has my neighboor across the street.. he took it to cadillac and had the motor replaced for around $300

I got away with pressing the latch on the trunk lid & the latch which grabs the trunk to pull it down. Releasing both, the motor came back up... took it down properly -- chances are you have a short.. try bumping around in that area
.. mines worked eveer since

good luck

$300 sounds steep. I've had my motor replaced a couple of times: $50 for the part, $20 or so for labor.
