I have a 2004 V8 AWD SRX with a fatory installed Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system. The audio output volume from the RSE when played through the vehicle speakers is considerably diminshed when compared to the volume you get from the radio or CD player. the radio is a 6 disc standard not Bose system. I wanted to use the auxilary input on the RSE to hook up an IPOD and Sirius setup. However, when I hook it up useing an RCA to 3.5 mm connection, the volume control works for the vehicle stereo, but it does not get loud, even at max. It does the same thing when you try and control the volume from a DVD. In my amateur opinion it appears that this audio signal is not being amplified, the way the radio and cd signal is. Anyone ever have this problem? Is this supposed to be this way? Dealer services acknowledeges the problem, but cannot diagnose. Car only has 18,000 miles, and I would love to get them to fix this if it is a defect. If not, anyone know a way to rectify?.
