: Greetings from Iowa

Just joined the forum and wanted to warn you all......

I recently joined the ranks of the Cadillac owners (last Thursday) by purchasing a very nice 98 Deville (cream colored, not the Concours but the one in between it and the standard Deville, name has already eluded me) with 68k miles. We love it so far. We ended up buying this car after my wife totalled 2 cars in about 2.5 weeks - neither her fault.

03 Taurus - Flooded out on the Main Street of our hometown.
99 Linclon - Had a beauty one owner with 66k on the odometer for 3 days and an uninsured driver rear ended the wife and put an end to the Lincoln stage.

We're hopefull the Caddy has a better life than the previous 2 vehicles.

I'll be asking questions soon I'm sure.

Good to be aboard!

Is it true the state song is "I Owe a Lot to Iowa Pot" ? :)

Being from Iowa is a great place to be - as far from as possible is even better...

Just kidding - I'm also originally from Iowa. Welcome aboard!

And what town is it that flooded recently?

Moving up in the world, eh? Taurus to Lincoln to Caddy! Welcome aboard!

Welcome! What part of Iowa?

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm in the Southeast corner of the state in Keokuk.

Regarding the flood, it was only one intersection of our town that flooded during a rain deluge, and my wife happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Root cause is really insufficient street drainage for this intersection.

In car ownership yes, I am moving up, but buying a 9 year old car now allows me to have alot more for less. Taurus new was 17k (not our best investment to date), Caddy was 45k sticker price new for the original owner, but after 9 years and still looking and acting new she's down to a reasonable $8500 my cost. I do love the comfort and cushiness of these babies, should be a fun ride.

What kinda '99 Lincoln did you have prior to the Caddy?

The Lincoln was a 99 Continental in pristine condition. It was a shame it was toast after only 3 days of ownership.

We had a huge Cadillac meet in Des Moines recently. Your women are gorgeous!
