: Massive Picture Update! All The RWD Cads I've Encountered Since January
07-24-07, 10:15 PM
Hello everyone, I know I don't post very often, and I hope you don't think I'm a jerk because of it. I love hunting down old cars, roaming the back roads looking for 'em, especially Caddies. My main hobby is taking pictures of these gems for my collection, which is now quite large. I know you don't have all the time in the world, and since this is RWD Caddy forum, I've limited what I'll share with you to just that: RWD caddies. It might give you an idea of what sort of vehicles we've got up here in Nova Scotia. Now, on with what you want to see.
Warning, there are going to be a lot of pictures in this thread!

'71 Miller-Meteor "Citation" coach, negotiations still up in the air... more on that later.
My co-worker is selling this '88 Brougham he picked up several years ago from the original owner, fairly clean car. He wants no less than $1500.
07-24-07, 10:33 PM
Here's my car at the shop. Getting some things checked out after being inside all winter.
That big blue '93 I mentioned back in the winter is still for sale... clean up top but rusty underneath, for $2000.00
At that same dealer, I found an old Grey Brougham which I snagged some parts from for my car. Many trim pieces, the trumpet horns etc. It had d'elegance int. and was very dirty. That showed with the gray color. Isn't this a firemist shade?
Another shot of my co-worker's '88.
Found this '77 in a field about 45 minutes from me while driving one day. No one was home at the house... it must've been there for quite some time. D'elegance. I was interested in the original 8 track to replace a crappy tape deck in the '79 I'm restoring, and the thermometer mirror.

More of this '77:
My Cars at home in the yard the other day: my grandmother's '85 Parisienne, my '89 Brougham and the '79 SDV:
Lost in the country one afternoon in June, I saw this beauty parked in a yard. I stopped in and talked to the owner. '60, not for sale, all original. I arranged for my good friend and fellow caddy buff to take it to prom a few weeks later. Wonderful car, I took many more pictures than this. Not flawless, but nice for an original from NS!

I travelled to Hamilton Ont. in early May to visit my lady friend! A grand time to say the least, with one or two prime Cad. sightings. I had my camera around for this beauty, and luckily the old lady let me take a few shots for you guys. Incredible shape... but terrible hubcap choice.
My car being washed the other day, in the garage of the funeral home i volunteer at:
I was honored to drive some close friends to prom in June, and I even dressed the part! We had a lovely time.
These beauties are for sale, about an hour and a half from me, and one could get the package deal for a very very fair price. It includes an '80 SDV, '88 Brougham w/ continental kit of some sort, an '83 (or '84) Oldsmobile 98 Regency Brougham and a Autumn Maple Firemist Caddy "parts car" that runs and drives, late '80s which I did not get to see.The '80 is very very clean.
07-24-07, 10:56 PM
More of the package deal. The 80 interested me most due to the reliable old 368. It had the 8 track, and a beautiful burnt-orange int. You'll notice some mix ups with the grills though...

Headliner of the '80:
Found this one during the school year! Recognized its shape under that cover while walking by one day. This was a beautiful car, owned by a german gentleman. It's minttttt! he picked it up near boston. it has the 4100, and I believe it is an '84. the 4100 is a giant turd and used incredible amounts of oil. he gave me his number, and i am trying to help him locate a good replacement motor. he wants to keep this lovely car:
Many of you may remember the pictures I took in the fall of a '77 and an '84 Coupe deville? These cars are still there... and still in rough shape. I took some updated photos the other day. they're about an hour from me... and cheap, but basically very very far gone. As you can see by the inspection sticker on the '77, it's been off the road for a while.
07-24-07, 11:18 PM
Here's the other junker sitting at this house.. supposedly has a rebuilt 4100 in it...
This car is a random junker i saw one night heading back from the beach. It is a pile of crap that some hick has burned the heck out of... i snapped some shots regardless:
Here we have the opposite end of the spectrum. My neighbour had this parked on his lawn one day. His dad owns a number of classic cars, and they're often at the son's house.. but I'd never seen this one before. He is mainly a mopar man. this one he picked up out west. a car dealership had bought it off an old woman and restored it in '94 for advertisment purposes. they put it up for auction in 2000 and my neighbours father snatched it up at a ridiculously low price. it's a '57... and it's beautiful. I took many pictures to say the least. enjoy!

These should speak for themselves:

One more of the '57:
My car at the Canada Day Car show this year:
This beauty was also present, and for sale... for 15,000! out of my league. :(
These were taken at a car show last summer, although this car came up for sale 2 months ago near my house for 17,000. everything was original however... triple white with the 429. unbelievable car. it has sold.
This Eldo was at the same show. I have never seen anything like it before, and it has not returned to the show this year. rare and sharp car.
07-24-07, 11:35 PM
These were also taken at a show last year, but I figured they're worth sharing!
Now this next one is a bit of a sad story. As long as I can remember, this big white boat has been parked between these two trucks on the way to my cousin's house. I finally went and checked in, only to find no one home. However, while nabbing some pics, a neighbour informed me that this guy is into S-10 pickups and bought the thing for the 500. it will probably end up gutted... or sunk into the lawn judging by the rate this guy's projects move at. it is a rougher car, and sitting on the lawn isn't helping us any. you don't see many 70s cads around here, so i had to take a few shots.
07-24-07, 11:41 PM
Inside the big white whale... I believe there was some Austin 3:16 parafanalia lying around in there, if i recall correctly:
Now this beauty was for sale all last summer, and looking at a recent buyer-flyer shows it is again! I'm trying to save up the money for it... we'll wait and see:
07-24-07, 11:43 PM
This one was for sale nearby... questionable condition/seller, but a nice color combo! Another '80s cad enthusiast in the area picked it up this summer.. i'll have to drop in sometime and see how his projects are coming.
This '64 was for sale about 2 hours from here, I believe it has also now sold:

Article from my dad's old car and driver... 425 power!
Some nice bags I found at a store in Halifax... sadly they were womens handbags... and it was very OBVIOUS they were, too. It'd be tough to pass 'em off as a bookbag etc. Too bad!
This old girl sits at my friend's grandparents house. She is ROUGH. it was parked because they had another car, and this one had a split windsheild. It was parked in the mid '90s. It's a 1980 and has the 368, too. A shame.
07-24-07, 11:55 PM
Holy Crap, batman!

A few more:
And my family's christmas photo:
And the Lawn decoration:
These last ones were kind of random, and just for fun. I have many more pictures, but these were ones of cars that deff. had to do with this forum, and like I said, I can dig up some more later as I come across them. Sorry the descriptions aren't that good, but I'll answer any questions you guys have/gladly talk about the cars/show a few more shots here and there. I never get a good chance to sit down at the computer, so this was quite a feat! I just thought since I have all these pictures I might as well share them with some people who'd be interested in seeing them. Hope it was a good read. I'll try and keep on top of uploading pictures as I take 'em, and hopfully the summer will be full of old vehicles to keep me busy. Goodnight for now gentlemen!
P.S. I've got a few videos to upload too and I'll add them to this thread.
07-25-07, 12:10 AM
One more I just found: taken two summers ago.. but the car is still there. It hasn't moved since the '80s, says my dad. It's on the way to our favourite beach, about 2 hours from here.. maybe this summer i'll inquire...

07-25-07, 08:09 PM
Don't take this the wrong way, but do you take pics of all the RWD Cadillacs you see, no matter where they're parked at?
I really admire that, I think it's cool.
07-25-07, 08:14 PM
Yeah, I wish I could do that. But no camera phone and I forget to take the regular one.
07-26-07, 10:50 AM
Yeah, nice pics !!
Is there a caddy behind every corner...?!
Here in germany seeing an 80´s Caddy is like finding a glass of water in the desert...
07-26-07, 01:39 PM
madmike, I think it'd be awesome to get a picture of your '88 Brougham next to a SMART car.
07-26-07, 03:05 PM
Hmmm, those Smart Cars...
...I usually have to pry them out of my car´s air cleaner.
But i will do some pics next week.
07-26-07, 04:17 PM
Yes. Something like this.
1979 Sedan DeVille Phaeton vs. faceless generic hyundai
07-28-07, 03:43 PM

08-06-07, 12:11 PM

I was so happy, the car is amazing, awsome, coooool. I took a fast pic... next to a "smart" !!
08-06-07, 06:43 PM
Awesome! I've always liked that dark grey. I almost bought a '86 in that color with a dark red velour interior, god that was beautiful.
You need to find some whitewalls though.
