Was watchin tv today and saw a cobalt commercial where they advertised the mp3 adapter.

How in the hell does a chevy cobalt get a mp3 plugin but they can't put one in a CTS. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

sometimes GM boggles my mind.

Lots of chevys have the aux jack. Good question though.

I think if I ever get a "2nd" car it will be the SC cobalt..just a side note :)

to bad its gone for 08. i could've easily snaged one up for 17k new in may. the reason all those have the ipod output is because it has the corporate gm radio.

The 2008 CTS has it:

Integrated iPod/MP3 capability
Designed in consultation with the engineers behind the iPod and other computer and entertainment industry experts, the center console of the CTS is tailored for MP3 players. iPods or other digital music devices can be charged via a USB port, which also enables playlists to appear on the car’s touch-screen and steering wheel controls to be used to advance tracks. Both the USB and auxiliary audio jacks are located conveniently within the console, providing an easy storage location and eliminating cords hanging from the audio system.

Yeah, unfortunately, the CTS has not evolved much since it came out in 2003. Even though the 2007 is the same body style as the 2003, it would have been nice if some features were added to the CTS as the years went on (such as Bluetooth, Remote Start, Cooled Seats, Bose 5.1 Surround Sound, etc.). In 2003, this was an advanced car, but it hasn't evolved over the years. The only major things that changed from 2003 to 2007 is the engine (which changed in 2004) and the Tiptronic Shift for the automatic transmission. I have a 2007 CTS and I really like it. But aside from it being a new car, it's really a 2003 made in 2007.

The American car companies do seem to lag in technology, when compared to the commercial world, or the Japanese manufacturers. I just installed a Pioneer stereo in my boat that, besides AM/FM and CDR's, does XM, MP3, and iPod, for well under $200. I'm not sure why GM can't put it in from the factory. Maybe Cadillac feels their target demographic is still senior citizens, who don't know what XM, MP3 and iPods are!

I know, I just bought a 2200 dollar washer and dryer set and a 600 stainless steel dishwater, but I still have no rims for the Caddy or an Ipod...
The Trans Am likes money too. I just got it a nice shiney Ford 9 inch...I won't even tell you how much that stupid thing was...

Do you all love your Ipod? Is it worth it for me to get one?

I didn't have the iPod and always felt like I should get one. But then I was waiting for the iPhone instead. So now I got the iPhone which I really like and use it as an iPod. So now I don't feel so outdated anymore lol. I guess it's true that you don't need it, but it is nice to have. Of course, only if you listen to music a lot while you're not in the car/home. (Well, it sure would be nice if we could use it in our cars :( )

Hey there,
Luckily we have in our european CTS´s an input for aux devices (Video and Audio) and TV as standard (from 2003 on).:):) But we don´t have a Chevy Cobalt.
