Greetings,
My name is Rob, and I live in a small town called Boonville, MO. Ever since I was a small kid I loved Cadillacs and always wanted one. However, I was fussy as I only really cared for the ones made from about 1976 - 1986. Past that, when the styling changed, I really didn't care for them much.
As luck would have it, this past week while browsing Craigslist I came upon a local seller who was selling a 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham for their parents. I went to look at it and fell in love.
It's a great car, and is in very, very good condition. One owner and well taken care of over the past 21 years. It runs incredibly well for its age, and starts up quickly and quietly.
There isn't much bad about it, even most (with the exception of one) filler panels are intact. The things on my list to fix are:
Replace the window switch on the drivers side
Replace the headliner (sagging)
Even though they are in good shape, replace the filler panels
The only really "bad" thing about it is the elderly owners before me ran into a pole in the parking lot and now there is a dent about the size of two fists in the rear trunk. I'll go ahead and pull it and see about getting it into a body shop for some minor work. However, even my neighbors down the road said that it was next to nothing and were amazed at how nice the car looked.
I'm very happy to finally own one of these bad boys, and look forward to years of driving excitement. Even though for me its only a weekend/cruiser car, I'm going to enjoy it a lot.
And for the record, I plan on keeping it as original as can be -- I'm not going to "trick" it out or none of that nonsense. I believe in leaving things alone, and this car just looks so good the way it came from the factory.
