Yup! My wife and I are expecting our second child!!!!!!!

I can't wait. I love my daughter so much that I can't wait for another child!

However, I love my NSX. That said, I've thought about selling it a number of times. The issue is that it is not a family friendly car. Yes, I knew that going in, but I bought it before I had my daughter. Now, with another one on the way, it seems like it would make sense to get a 996 911 so I can drive the "fun" car with the family, have a car I can feel proud of driving and from time to time, take it to the track. I know I don't have to make a decision for several months, but I'm not a patient person and if I'm going to give up the car, I may as well do it sooner vs. later (compulsive personality).

That said, I hear horrible things about folks having to get new engines in the 996s and RMS leaking issues.

In any event, what do you think?

I can't think of any other car with a backseat in the 30-40K range that would has any real "sex" appeal other than the 911. The G35 Coupe is not in the same league. I don't want to go from an exotic (or near exotic, depending on your POV) to a pedestrian car, like the 350Z, G35, M3 or something along those lines. Keep in mind, I have the CTS-V, which is staying because I love it and it's a wonderful car.

There's really no other car that fits the bill - just to recap, the criteria are:

ego fulfillment -- don't give me any cr@p about this, I know its a shortcoming http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif;
rear seat for baby/toddler;
trackable; and
preferably less than $35K!

Both the S4 and the M5 are basically just the equivalent of the CTS-V. No sex appeal in either .... :rolleyes:

Maybe not the S4 but I beg to differ with the M5. And it seems like you got money so buy an M5 and send it over to DINAN:thumbsup:

If I had a young family this would be the car for me.

Congratulations on the pending arrival.

Congrats on the future baby!!

2003+ CL55 AMG:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Benz-CL-Class-CL55-AMG-CL55-at-CL500-Price-Choice-Of-Wheels-Loaded_W0QQitemZ280131945425QQihZ018QQcategoryZ318 52QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Far more comfortable than the 911 and actually has a decent back seat and better crash ratings.. family friendly?

2003+ CL600:

Twin Turbo, V12... far softer suspension than the CL55 and a little more luxurious inside.

CLK 55 AMG:

Smaller, cheaper, yet still fast and has a rear seat that can fit toddlers?

Just my .02$

With two kids to transport, get something practical but still fun. Practical means 4 doors and taller (your back will thank you) so you can easily buckle the kids in carseats and a trunk or rear cargo area big enough for all that kid stuff you'll be hauling around. The SRX is a great choice.

As for the track, take your CTS-V or get fun track car.

Nothing says family hauler and sex appeal more than the early '90's Ford Festiva! We hauled both our kids in this for a few years when they were little and it did just fine.
