Hi, has anyone out there had any luck installing a bluetooth adaptor in a 02 STS. I am looking for one that functions as close to "stock" as posible. I would prefer to mot have any visible signs of the unit and that it would atleast mute the radio and work over the car stereo speakers when it activates. I don't expect it to function with the phone button on the steering wheel or anything. I have been told that no one sells a harness for an 02 seville and it can't be done. I have seen from reading many post here that most of you don't like that phrase and have found ways to do 'what can't be done'.
I'm also interested in installing xm/sirus if it can be done without adding extra displays. I have asked about that in another thread.
Also, would a nav unit from the same year seville be a direct swap or were the harnesses different?
Any help is appreciated.
try this link (http://www.dealerworksinc.com/bluetooth.html) and click on the "cig blue". The button can be installed anywhere you want. But it looks good in the place of your unused cig lighter. Looks totally stock
Thanks for the link, but not really what I'm looking for. They make adaptors for cars that integrate with the sound system so they automaticly mute the music, display thru the stereo, use exsiting mic and speakers. Nobody seems to make the conectors for the 02 sevile so I need to find someone who has figured it out (if posible) to hook up the adaptor to a 02 caddy.
If I can't figure out how to integrate one I'll just use a portable one i can move from car to car.
ok sorry. so if i read correctly, that sounds like a great part...you found one for the 02 but not sts? can you tell me where you found it so i can put one on my 02 dts?
Here is the link to a site that sells lots of adaptors for different cars. You can call them and give your car specifics and see if they have one that will work. They don't have one for the seville. They have one for gm but the radio has to have RDS, mine doesn't. http://www.installer.com/parrot/
I'm getting a 2003 Seville with NAV, I, along with another member Thu would be interested in adding Bluetooth to our cars. It would be cool to integrate it into the NAV system.
Thanks but it doesn't have any for my car. Most of those are new cars. Intersting though.
