Good report. Technology is great until it doesn't work. Then that helpless feeling sets in.....

Interesting to hear the issues that particular model is experiencing. Looks like another car not to have outside of a warranty.

I don't know why some of those owners thought they could get special treatment from Toyota just because the car started having troubles after the warranty expired. Warranty expires, customer pays for repairs. It's just how it works, no matter if it's a Chevy, Toyota or Lamborghini.

What about you guys? Do you think the Prius will be a dependable, long run, high mileage car or a "disposable good until 100k miles" type of car? I don't think it'll age well at all...sorta like a Daewoo.

Must be those owners heard about the Toyota reputation for reliability and expected it to be true! Must be they also expected Toyota to fix it if it did break.
Any car over 100k miles is gonna have something go wrong with it.

If you want that economy, you'll have to pay for it.

Any male who drives a Prius must turn in his man card immediately. You are either p-whipped, or just a plain p.

Kinda like a Priuspism.

The Priapism, as I like to call it, is just like any other Asian car: a pleasant enough appliance for folks who like their appliances to have wheels. My dad used to call them all "bic cars" because they were completely disposable.

It's a motorized palmpilot. A piece of technology used for 2-3 years then thrown away when the newer/better one comes out.
