Today's a good day to remember one of the great quotes from Mark Twain:

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it."

I love my country. I'm embarassed by my government (among other things).

Happy 4th everyone!

Remeber to also not speed today.
I got my ticket today for everyone on here.
72 in a 60 in the Trans Am.
When the cop asked if there was an emergency, I said "Yep, I want to get to the fireworks stand before all the good stuff is gone."
He laughed and said. "I guess you knew you were getting a ticket anyway"
I said "Go figure. Trans Am WS6, Big cam, and loud exhaust. It is just given"
He said "Yes, but it does sound very stout!!"
Hahahahahah!

Also after serving in the Navy for 11 years, remeber to tip your glass for everyone who has made the ultimate sacrifice to make this country what it is today!!
HAPPY 4th EVERYONE!!! :patriot:

Hey, one of my neighbors set their house on fire. It's out now, but that was fun. lol.

I may be disappointed by some aspects of the country in her current state, but at heart I'm damn proud to be American.

:usflag: God Bless this great country, and all who ever have and ever will serve it. Sleep safe tonight, brothers and sisters, for the Corps is out there.

Printed out the Declaration of Independence early this morning, read it as a 'refresher course' , gave my 6 & 7 year old an idea of what the day really is about. In a neighborhood parade I made them say Happy Independence Day (instead of happy 4th of July). I had the pleasure to shake the hand of and give thanks to a young Marine in his dress blues. What a day, what a Country.

I got to carry the U.S. Flag in a local parade today. What felt the greatest was hearing all the old veterans clapping when they saw the Flag.

Good for you! It is Independence Day not the 4th of July...okay, it is the 4th of July but you know what I mean

I love this thread.
I love the United States of America.
I hope you all had a great day off.
Support your troops, both at home and
overseas.
God Bless your brave fighting men and
women, who keep the world free and make
it a better place. Moreover, screw the simplistic
unpatriotic domestic bastards who criticize you;
and, the multiplicity of international defence
freeloaders who have the opportunity to
flourish solely as a direct consequence of your
benevolent might and indomitable spirit.

Best Regards,:usflag:

I remember something I read one time about a sailor in uniform; they look like they can handle anything from a beautiful girl or a lost puppy to a burning aircraft carrier.
