Hello all. I am currently in the process of trying to replace my stock Bose Gold system (in a '92 Seville) with off the shelf stereo components (I've had the Bose speakers stolen 1 too many times:annoyed:). My question concerns the front (door) speakers - is there any way to wire the existing speakers to an aftermarket head unit? If not, does anyone know what size speakers you can fit in the doors? Also, if they do need to be changed, can any of the stock wires be used? I know the Bose receiver in the dash was just the "display unit", but I am unsure where the actual stereo unit is where I can intercept the wires (to keep from having to run new wires down into the doors)? I know some of you out there must have tried a similar change so any input or advice you supply would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yea, I tried to install new speakers in the doors, but it seemed to be an impossible task as finding which wires went where was just too bizarre. I thought I'd have it, but then I wouldn't, so I just ran new wires. It wasn't as bad as it sounds though...Best Buy just wanted waayyyy too much money for this procedure, so I did it myself..I've outlined the process on my site....

dac675 Sorry I can't answer much of this, I like the Bose in my 92 Eldorado. But as far as where the actual brain is, take down the liner in the rear of the trunk. It's mounted between the liner and the rear of the back seat. Just follow your antenna cable to it. All the speaker wires and such run through that.
