I have a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood Deville -
The car has a personality of its own. Every so often, the car will not start (turn the key and nothing). Go back, and the car starts. I have had the car to three (3) shops, including a Dallas Cadillac Dealership (Sewell), and no one can determine the cause.
The Cadillac dealer beleives it is related to the security system. Please anyone with knowledge of this problem, I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,

My 92 Eldorado is doing the same thing. I've heard (somewhere in this forum) that cleaning the ground cable at the terminal end (removed from battery) and the connection end (removed from..?) with a wirebrush/emery cloth, that this would most likely solve this. When mine started doing it, I tried several different starting techniques to try and get it to start at the times when it wouldn't start. The most successful one is, ... as soon as I turn the key to Start, if it doesn't connect, no release on the key. I hold it in the start position till it connects and starts. Usually within a few seconds, it decides to start. This might not be a good idea, I don't know but until I get the primary reason I'm on this forum for resolved, I'm going to be giving that ground cable cleaning idea a whirl. Try that and let us know if it works on your Deville.
Take care,
John

Make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight. If you must, replace the cables.

Sounds like you'r having a problem with the PASS key stuff. Do a search or have a look around here because there are several posts about it and how to fix it.
