: POLL: Now that the Q is gone, what should Jesda buy next?

So now that our resident import lover has sold his import, the choices are endless of what his next car should be!

Let's try and drum up some good ideas for Jesda's new ride!

After I sat down with Gary (gdwriter) and extensively deliberated Jesda's concerns regarding performance, style, economy and 0-60 times, we came up with these choice finalists.

I voted Citroen. It's french, chicks dig european cars. Ooooh, plus the excitement that comes with wondering what will break next and how many hundreds (or perhaps thousands) of dollars it'll cost to repair!

I'll go for the Volaré, since I can add the accented "é" because I use a Mac. Plus, who wouldn't want the excitement of wondering what the breakdown du jour will be?

Bah. I too can type an accented e because I use a program called "Allchars" that emulates the function of the compose key on old DEC equipment and lets me type the compose sequence for "é". So I too vote for the Volaré. Plus it makes me think of Dean Martin.

I did, however, find Dino's version here (http://www.gdwriter.q45.org/Volare.mp3).

I don't think Dean actually appeared in the commercials. If they had any Italian singer, it was probably Al Martino...

Hmmm, I don't see '60 Studebaker Lark on the list. That would be my choice as a Jesda car. Or perhaps a '70 AMC Gremlin.

Jesda--you could get plaid pants to match the seatcovers. :highfive:

GLC all the way. My dad had an '81 or '82 GLC 4-speed. That car was cool, and it lasted forever, i think he sold it in '92. Never had any issues with it. Neat car.

I picture Jesda in a dirty, white Econoline with no windows--and "WASH ME" rubbed into the dirt. This van frequently cruises junior-high parking lots.

At night it's parked down by the river.

I voted GLC too, actually Mazda had some sort of super turbo GLC sized thing later on alot of rally drivers use. It was actually far ahead of its time for its day.

GLC stood for Great Little Car btw.

That was the 323 GTX . Turbo, AWD. Sick car.

If im not mistaken, he bought it for a friend and is just using it until he delivers it to his friend, maybe that's that his current road trip is for, I think he said he's going out west and IIRC, his friend's in Seattle.

Yeah, not his, but for a friend.

As far as possible choices for him, though, only he could say...and I need truthful specifics to answer that question, anyway.
