I just noticed when I was washing MY DAD'S escalade that one of the wheels, the chrome is peeling off. It's very small right now but I know that it will get bigger and worse over time! is there any solution other then getting it re-chromed or buying new rims?

This is what happens when you buy cheap rims. Cheap rims means the production was cheap. Not much you can do then have them re-dipped but why when the others will eventually peel as well.

What kind of rims are they anyways? Any pictures?

Not really any repair for peeling chrome, it's very important to keep the chrome clean and keep any salt off the wheels, this will help them last longer, but there is nothing you can do about bad chrome plating except look for wheels with at least a 3 year chrome warranty, they usually use a 3 step chroming method. What wheels are they?

I just noticed my piece of $hit U2 wheels are peeling after less than one year of service. Probably the last time I invest money on chrome, whether expensive or not!

If you keep your wheels clean and "waxed" it will help them last much longer, my wheels get exposed to a ton of salt driving back and forth to our upstate NY home, I wash them when I get there and when I get home, weather permitting of course. It makes a big difference. :)

True that! I learned the hard way with my last vehicle I put Chrome 20's on it and kept them on during the winter and was not good about cleaning them (it was just too darn cold LOL), but when the weather got nice and I tried to shine them up they were already starting to pit. I will NOT make the same mistake with my new 22's on the lade!

The Escalade has 23" Polo Strategy rims. When I took them off in the winter, I washed two rims and put them away and never got to wash the other two cause it got too cold (ITS CANADA!) and I just never bothered and noticed that they aren't too good, condition wise. Lesson Learned. Won't let this happen with the CTS (it's parked for winter):highfive:

I've got the new 22's available on the sport edition and found one wheel with some small bumps and another wheel had some peeling. The dealer replaced both and I haven't noticed any issues yet.

Could be because of the snow

Could be because they are Polo rims....(never heard of them)
