I meet a fellow V owner last weekend that claims a particular dealership installed an STS rear diff, on his V the second time he had it replaced. Supposedly this is spose to be stronger.
Have you guys heard anything about this??

The rear end in the STS-V is the same (I got that info from James) as the CTS-V.

well, in that case, maybe I'll say I had the beefier sts-v rear-end put in my V when I go to sell it.

My thoughts on this post;

The sts-v came out in 2006, and had an upgraded case. The 2006+ cts-v got the same rear, yes with a different ratio. Now... what that guy said would be fairly true, if they replaced the rear on his 2004-2005 with the newer cased 2006+ sts-v/cts-v rear.... I believe this is what the situation here really is.
