Unfortunately I have to sell my '76 DeVille D'elegance (need the money, long story) and I'm trying to figure out what it's worth. It's recently been painted, the body panels are all pretty much rust free, and the interior is almost perfect. The only problem is that there is some rust on the undercarriage (nothing rusted through). It has 75,000 miles and has all exterior trim pieces intact.
I was thinking about 7-8k, is this realistic?

Might be easier if we had pictures :) Just from the info you gave, it sounds about right. Go lower if you need to unload it fast though.

yeah for sure i'd start out with 7 or something higher than you think its worth and then ad "no reasonable offer will be refused" or something like that so that people can talk you down to your original price. yes post pics please!

From what I have seen, $5-7K is more realistic. Your best bet is eBay.
"almost rust free" is the only part that will scare potential buyers away.
Coupe or sedan? Coupes tend to be worth more. Pics would definitely help, esp. pics of the underbody. Good luck and sorry for your troubles.

Thanks for all the responses, but it looks like I get to keep it after all!
I'll see about some pictures just as soon as I find a place to host them.
