Okay. Got the Goodyear Response Edge tires to replace the OEM Michelins. Dealership did a 4-wheel alignment. Now the car is running beautifully. The new Goodyears are much better than the Michelins. Just as quiet but has firmer sidewalls, better grip, and don't squeal as soon as you take a corner faster than normal.

I've only had the car for two weeks and only this weekend did I get a chance to really enjoy it. This is my first family car with a V8 in it and gosh am I loving it! The sound. The smoothness. The response. This is also my first full size American car I have ever owned. So incredibly roomy inside. I really like having the column shifter. I thought I would hate it but it actually is very easy to use and reach. For a car like this, the column shifter is a natural. Plus, it opens up the center portion of the seat for more stretching out room/elbow room.

I've owned many sports sedans from Japan & Germany before but I have to say, this is the most refined one I have ever driven. I had an Audi and it came close except that one had a peaky engine and a much smaller interior. It sure is nice to be able to stretch out from head to toe! It's also nice to stomp on the gas and hear that DOHC V8 roaring with a subdued growl. Great autobox too. Perfect shift programming of any autoboxes I have ever driven. Everything about the car feels like a highly polished and refined machine, with just a hint of eagerness to stretch its legs on the open road. It's not a sportscar (that's what the Corvette is for) but it's not a limo either!

I also love the look of that long hood and trunk. The filled-in fenders with REAL rubber that is visible, as opposed to those hideous 35-series tires on 20" chrome behemoths. I'm sorry but, I just can't stand too much bling on my cars. The DeVille looks more traditional big American Luxury car with a hint of European flavor, and I really, really like it.

Enough talk. Here are some pics I took Downtown next to office buildings:

I hate to be a stickler but the Sedan part has been dropped. They no longer make a Coupe so it's just Deville.

Thanks.

The OEM Michelins do have a slightly noticeable edge when it comes to a very quiet and compliant ride. But they squealed way too early. Didn't fit my driving style. Not that I rip around corners fast, just not slow.

I'm really enjoying this Cadillac ownership. I went to the Cadillac dealership for the 4-wheel alignment and I waited an hour at the Customer Lounge. Boy! I was the youngest guy there and I'm 40! Probably just a fluke. It was my first time there so who knows.

I honestly think all the people my age probably hang out at the BMW/MB/Lexus dealership! I know this isn't the case but it does seem that every wannabe in SoCal all drive the foreign brands. Even the migrant workers buy highly used BMW's/Acura's/Lexus'! I'm not kidding! I see them at the local Laundromat! :helpless:

In fact, if you get an American car, you're different! Hah!

This is not the case with SUV's and trucks though. It's the opposite. They like their American SUV's over here!

BTW, I was thinking of putting hoodscoops on.

Just kidding!

Hi RogueCadillac, man that is a beautiful car and I love the white color, here in Texas dark colors really get hot in the summer white is preferred to me even tho my 98 is blue. I'm glad you mentioned about the Goodyear tires. I with you on liking the colum shifter it's out of the way, when i was young and dating, a car with a colum shifter and bench seat is what you wanted. That way your date would slide right up next to you IF the date was working out. LOL thanks for posting your pictures. TexasCadillac...rollin :) Okay. I know what you mean about the column shifter/date thing. My old High School car had a column shifter and a bench seat....I remember how I got lucky with a girl at a party on that car! Heheh!

Funny, I would like to convert my DHS to a floor shift but can't seem to locate a DTS console.
