Need some help - brand new here, just a driver and not a true "enthusuast"...
Passenger side power window is stuck in down position. ALl other windows work. I assume the window is off the track or otherwise jammed. HOW do I get the door panel off so I can get at the window? I can feel the window from the top, but can't budge it.
We're getting monsoon rains tomorrow...not gonna be a fun drive if I can't do something with this problem.
THANKS - 1998 DeVille, 104K (s)miles.

I'm going to assume you've tried both driver and pasenger door switches. If there is any noise when you hit a switch (clicks or hums) then your problem is very likely in the door and not electrical. If there is dead silence your problem MAY be outside the door. I am not familiar at all with your generation DeVille, but in general for GM products there is usually a screw behind the inside door handle. There is often an access panel or you pop the panel behind the handle if the screw is not exposed. There are usually one or two screws somewhere on the armrest - in Sevilles you pop up the flap where you stick your hand to pull the door closed. Then there may be one or two exposed screws along the bottom. Once you can find and remove all the screws you can pop the panel, disconnect the electrics and start working past the water shield. Either before (if you can) or after you pull the door panel you should use a voltmeter or test light to check for power at the window switch with the key on. That should give you an idea which way to go. Normally I'd let the DeVille smart guys like Ranger and others post on this but since you're in a pinch for time I put up what I know. Good luck.
Like Chubbyranger said once you remove the screws you can pop the panel off with a flat tip screw driver. From the bottom slib the screw driver between the panel and the door then slide sideways until to hit the panel plastic screws and pull those out.
I would disagree with "If there is any noise when you hit a switch (clicks or hums) then your problem is very likely in the door and not electrical." cause I just did one of my doors and had no noise and it turned out to be the motor. Although it is a good start you will not know until you pull the panel and look behind.
Once you have the panel off try and see if anything is in the way or if the window guide has broken off. Either way you should be able to force your window up for now. What this would do is get you ready for the rain then after you can trouble shoot. Hope you get it done but if not e-mail me and we can talk about what is wrong then.
Good luck and hope you stay dry.
