so i got my new quadrajet tuned to perfection. the only problem is the driverside tailpipe has a slight miss. (true duals all the way back). Any ideas to what this could be?

Check to see if you have any ignition timing or quality issues and idle mixture and rpm is set correctly.

Forgot to mention EGR failure will cause air/fuel mixture issues also.

when the car idels it will shake every now and again. once you drive it just as you tip into the gas peddle, it stutters a bit. i think the egr is good, i took it off and looked at it. i sprayed the whole motor down with brake klean as well... nothing happend as far as the engine racing.

Sounds like an ignition issue and most likely is compunded by some of the above. i.e. weak ignition, partially clogged egr and slightly off idle mix.

I have the same issue with my 78. Rebuilt carb/motor/etc.... I'm inspecting now. Let you know what I come up with.

im thinking egr myself... but it only seems to miss from one tail pipe... i just regapped all plugs, replaced cap, rotor and plugs again just incase. when i had the EGR off i put a new gasket on cause the old one was shot. the diaphram seemed to work perfect. maybe i will try a new one any way... i also sprayed the whole engine with brake cleaner and found no surges or anything. i am stummped at this point! ttt

What procedure was used to set the idle mixture screws?
