Hello, I pick it up tomorrow. I really love that thing. The past owner put the Corsa exhaust on. I am coming from a 550rwhp Cobra. The first thing I noticed was DAMN!!!! For a sedan this thing moves out and is very comfy. glad to be here.

I will have some pics for you guys tomorrow. Unfortunately no modding. It was the stipulation in the agreement to let me get the car. The wife HATES the cobra because of the extensive mods. I can live with a 400hp sedan. Unless you guys no of some cheep un-noticeble to eye mods.

Are you going to show her she's the boss?:bouncy:

They are bad ass cars and a lot of fun to drive.

If your car doesn't have it already then you need the CAGs eliminator (if you don't have a tune) and a new shifter. I would recommend checking out www.cadillacfaq.com for new owners, good info.

You will also probably get to know Luke at Lindsay cadillac as well, I would say the best dealership I have ever dealt with!

Good luck on the Mod thing. I was very happy with the 400HP at first but not even 6 month's later I have the Headers on order, I will be doing something with the intake to improve the flow, B&B exhaust, There is a tune in my near future. This will probably only net about 360 to 365 at the rear but hopefully it will keep me satisfied for at least another six month's.

I came from a lifted diesel 4x4 truck (I know, HUGE difference) and I wanted more after a short period. Since you had a 550 RWHP car you may not even last that long (sorry). Problem is I'm already thinking about a head and cam package or a blower sooo many things to do.....

Let your wife relax and forget about the mod's (time should help with this one). Hopefully you can wait that long!

I think she would notice the cam anyways. She would think the car sounded broken. LOL. I think I will be ok for a few years.

It's been 15 months with my g/f now :)

When we first started talking I was in the process of getting my V. She got all upset saying I didn't need 2 Cadillacs and stuff. I ended up getting it anyway and everything's still good :D

Watch out of SRTs. I dont know what they think of Mustangs, but they have this delusion that every V is out to pick a fight :want:

We are, aren't we, Jimmy? (BTW,should be up Chicago way in a week or two)

Welcome to the madness of V World. It really is a great car. I did an exhaust, had the car tuned/programmed (the "skip shift" can be fixed via software mod) and am walking outside right now to install the UUC short shift kit/H.D. shifter bushings/console aux. power mods right now.

My wife of 25 years was just a lil ticked off when she saw the exhaust shipment (Group purchase price I couldn't pass up) in the garage in January after I bought my V in Dec. '06.

She said, "You aren't gonna build another monster like you did with the Impala, are you?".

I smiled my "you're the boss" smile, hugged and kissed her and told her, "NO WAY! I've got a 100K warranty I need to abuse first!".

She sighed, smiled and went inside to eat the lasagna dinner I had cooked that evening and hasn't mentioned mods since.

BTW, I let her drive it for the first time last week and the T56 clutch was too much for her ricer clutch spoiled left leg.

Congrats on the new ride, I had mine for two weeks now. If I don't drive it to work, I'm like a little kid, I can't wait to get home to it. And I find any reason to pull it out of the garage. This is however, my first ride this fast, my first V8 as a matter of fact.

Welcome. I would skip the GM Wheel hop bushing if the last owner didn't have them put on (at no cost). They creak horribly and I'd rather have wheel hop than than creaking in hindsight.

Will your wife let you buy chrome valve stem caps???? That would be a start.

Maybe I dont do hole-shots with the zealousness of many here, but I dont think the wheel hop is that bad. If I modulate the clutch a little under 2000 rpm, I get very minor wheel-hop for a couple feet and then the tires grab and the car takes off.

I have experienced far worse wheel hop on other cars I have owned. They didnt have anywhere near the power of this car, but that's a double edged sword. The high torque of this car may pronounce the wheel hop, but it requires less gas and less clutch compared with cars of modest torque output. I have never had another car exhibit wheel hop below 2000 rpm, but I have never had another car take off like a devil that low either.

There's no need to be doing burnouts in a Cadillac; but if you must, get tires with less traction :bigroll:

Your funny. My allowance would more than cover a spiffy set of stem caps.
