Well my parents were saying that they were going to get me a car for when I go off to college. So Katshot (aka dad for the newer guys) was saying that my choices were either a Hyundai or the FTS. That took me all of a second to decide on the FTS. He was saying that he would rather pass it on to me because he knows I'd take good care of it and the last thing I would ever want to do would be to mess up his prized jewel. But he was saying that he was going to sell it if I didn't want it so once the paper work gets all done I will be the proud owner of the almighty FTS!!! For those that don't know what the FTS is here are some pics

At this point he (which I thought he would never say) feels that he has too many cars. He has the Lincoln Aviator, the 1986 Mark VII LSC, the FTS, and his Mustang GT 'Vert. He just doesn't have the time to play with the FTS much anymore and when he does want to use it he hates having to remove the mice nests that they build from the car sitting for so long. As for project cars he hasn't mentioned really much of anything. His current toy is the Mustang and I think for the time being he's content with the exhaust, K&N CAI, and the custom tune he got done to it. He might do a new rear but who knows. He's waiting for that new Dodge Challenger to come out because he's been talking about wanting to get one of those for awhile now so who knows if it will go past just talk or not.

Oh, ok thanks for the explanation .As I recall, he told me to have some plans for the Mustang .
New Dodge Challenger seems to be badass but still wouldn't challenge your FTS ;)

.... the last thing I would ever want to do would be to mess up his prized jewel. ...Oh, don't worry, I'm guessing that isn't the prized jewel(s) he values most...... oh.. never mind!....and his Mustang GT 'Vert. ....Please excuse my age and senility and remind me, what year is his Mustang?

Oh, and that's great that he has passed the FTS on to you, I'm sure he feels you will be the closest to appreciate it as he does.

Oh, don't worry, I'm guessing that isn't the prized jewel(s) he values most...... oh.. never mind! Please excuse my age and senility and remind me, what year is his Mustang? It's a 2004 I believe. But it's a Centennial Edition so it's kinda rare because they only made a limited edition of them.

Oh, and that's great that he has passed the FTS on to you, I'm sure he feels you will be the closest to appreciate it as he does.I've always enjoyed driving it and he knew that I would race it around every once in awhile so he put a stop to me driving it for awhile:mad: but now i can drive it whenever I want!

WTF is a FTS?:D more info on it please:D i have to admit that that is a nice car:thumbsup:, and i dont see a forum for it here:bouncy:Basically it's a one off. Back when my dad was the service, parts, and fleet manager of the largest all Cadillac fleet in the US he saw a lot of potential with the Fleetwoods once they got the LT1 in them. He tried his best to talk Cadillac into making a Touring Sedan version (FTS) but they felt there wasn't a market for it so they never did. So he bought the Fleetwood and basically wanted to build up a Fleetwood and make it into what the car should have been and arose the FTS. But to find out everything he did to it here is a link to his cardomain page and he lists everything that has been done to it. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/210884

Blackout, you are the luckiest guy in the world right now. I know you'll care for the car the way it should be cared for. As I told your dad several times, if the car ever leaves the family, please give me a chance to make an offer.

Dude you are the man. Tell your dad I said Hi.

Nice!

Bill did the same with his '94 FTS, he gave it to his son

Glad those two legendary Fleetwoods stayed in the family instead of getting 20 inch wheels & hydros if they were put on the market.

Congrats! I <3 that car! Isn't that like the first heavily modded LT1 FWB on the forums?

Cool! I just remembered chatting with your dad over email back in December, and bringing up that we should meet up somewhere in the spring since I'm usually very nearby--but we never connected again. Oh well, the car is still staying in the family, so maybe we still can sometime.

On the other hand, I already have mt "FTS", same '95 Fleetwood with SS wheels and other small mods, and it's been my college-work-everything vehicle for over a year now. In contrary to the situation, however, as I've said before, anytime I express interest in ever getting rid of it, it's my father who always wants it. Also different, though keeping it in the family is cool, I know he'd never take proper care of it (at least like I do), so I'd almost rather have someone else buy it if it came to that.

Either way, good deal, and fun college car...even if, from experience, a bit extreme in the large and bulky sense to be the most friendly for tight spaces and town driving.

Sweet! So essentially it's a one-off dealer special, then? That's amazing! I've never heard of that car before... I gather it's legendary. Best of luck with it!

No, it's more a standard run of the mill Brougham model, that he himself went about changing the wheels, lowering it a touch, adding some performance goodies, and then calling it an FTS--which is something he came up with and thought would be proper.

Dealers NEVER did anything of the sort to these cars, exploiting any of the performance potential there, just instead added gawdy aftermarket tops, extra chrome, custom tires, and such.

Hey Y'all!
Been a while, I know.
Over the last couple days, I started getting emails from various people asking about my passing down the FTS to my son. So I just stopped by to see what the boy's been telling everyone. ;)
As he said, I've been getting increasingly anxious about having too many toys, and not enough time or money to play with them all. So between having to get the boy a car (as promised) for doing so well in school, and wanting to finally do something with the FTS, it seemed like a natural move to give it to him. I'm sure he will take great care of it and maybe even carry out a few more mods that I never got around to doing, who knows? Bottom line, I feel better about giving it to my son, than selling it. Who knows, maybe he'll bring it to some shows and club meets that I never did, and some of you will actually get to see it in person. Hopefully, it won't end up like his last couple sport-luxury cars.
