Need help from anyone who has had experience replacing the license plate bulb in 95 Deville. 2 small phillips heads hold on clear lens with bulb behind it. I do not think this is the way to get at the bulb. Attacking from the back presents major obstacles. Has anyone done this job before and can you give me some feedback on how to proceed? I thank you very much. This has become quite the headache for something so small. - Mark

I ran across your question and am going through the same problem. Since you wrote in, in April, have you gotten any feed back? This weekend I tried to replace the bulb, took out the two screws from the clear lens and low and behold, that wasn't it.
Now I have the lens flapping around.
Have you gotten ANY answers?
Is this a dealer thing?

Rmove your license plate, and you will see four phillips sscrews. Remove those. Open the trunk and remove the carpeting from the underside of the deck lid. You will see two 7mm bolts, one on each side behind the reverse lights. Then remove entire license plate pocket/backup lamp asssembly, and you will see the socket for the 194 bulb on top of the piece.
