: Redline Tires on Redline V (like em or hate em?)

Well, didnt like the feeling of going 130+ on a tire that had been patched from having 3 nails in it so I bought the Nitto redline tires. Figured if worse comes to worse I could rub the red off (reminds me of South Park and red rocket).

Anyways, some of my friends really like it, some are so so.

What do you think?

That's gonna take a while to get used too!
It's not all bad, but it's not too good.
But if you're now comfortable to exceed 130mph, I love it, call me when you're ready!

Its different. I like it. I saw some tires on pimp my ride that were all red and burned thick red smoke. Could be fun. Probably not good for 163mph though.

Good vibes for the illness.

I am interested in wet performance, as well as dry. More with standing water / hydroplaning speeds. I'm looking for an all seaon tire vs summer performance for when my RSAs need replacing in the next few thousand miles. (headers first though :) )

I wonder what that would look like with red calipers too.

Aint bitin', I like the silver. Believe it or not I still like 'classy' mixed with 'sporty'.

No offense taken, I love making fun of others and myself. Eh, I would put myself on the so so. I keep looking at them and kind of like them, then kind of dont.... I see what you mean though...

Pics are not the best as I didnt clean the tires a whole lot, they still have grease monkey junk on them. But I wont use that as an excuse.

They're actually not as bad as I was expecting them to be. Definitely don't paint the calipers though. That would be over the top on as well as too hard to match. Surprisingly the color of the tires seems to match almost perfectly.

I like them but I'd prefer them on a black car with black rims.

To the original poster - do you have the exact name of those tires? I'm trying to find them online but can't see what sizes they come in.

I'd like some for my C6, I think it'd fit in with the look I have going on. Here's a pic:

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I voted "Yes" 'cause it really does look good on a redline ... just not on my car, IMHO.

I would NOT have considered this for any other color car...

My "SOULETR"'s last date looked like that...left her crying.

Not my style but who cares it's your ride and that's all that matters. I think...

A long time ago, last century, when they started to speed rate tires, a speed rating of "Z" meant above 149 MPH. They further refined this rating of "Z"; "W" is good up to 168 MPH and "Y" is good up to 186 MPH. If your tire says 255-45 ZR 18 you must look at the Service Description, which consists of a load index and the speed rating. I think the service description for these tires is 103W (load index 103 = 1,929 pounds and speed rated to 168 MPH). In comparison the stock F1 EMT's are 96W (1,565 pounds and rated to 168 MPH)

The tires look a lot better than I thought they would. They might even look better with chrome wheels.
