Im not surprised by that. While the Northstar does have a few inherent flaws, the hot rod and custom modification communities have really taken to it for aftermarket applications like wildfire. Its nice to see that its so versatile once its OUT of the confines of a K body.

I had a project to build a kit car for Jaguar XJ220 .I asked one of knowledgeable persons who built his very own car said that if we were gonna do such a project we should use a Northstar engine .I asked why and he replied : "Because it's a FWD and your car (XJ220) engine is located behind the seats .Since we can't use the original engine we need an engine which is originally built for FWD applications.Northstar is the most powerful FWD engine. "
Moral of the story ,Northstar can be used in any show car .

I could see why people would use a N*. Its all aluminum, its compact for a V8, and its got amazing power. I'm not sure what they do about blowing headgaskets tho.

Here's a good question. What was the history of the Mastercraft Ski boats that had Northstar engines? Did they last?

Interesting exhaust work. It sounds real mean. I like it.

My favorite is the 1990 (never produced) Fiero. That is the sweetest next to the 88 Fiero Formula....
