: Oil Pressure Problem (yeah another one...)

After replacing the engine in my 93 STS (with a lower mileage used one), I've got a "no oil pressure problem". Not just the "Stop Engine" message, but noisy also. I tried the overfill method for trying to unstick the check valve, and it seemed to work - until the excess oil was drained (didn't have the paper in front of me, so only drained the excess, not all of it). When I restarted with the correct amount, no pressure and a noisy engine again. What's next? Try it again? Any certain amount of time to let it run or number of revs to give it? My mechanic thinks there may be a problem with the pan pickup (that might be checked soon). Any other ideas?

Did you have the replacement engine apart or install it as it came?

Not the bottom, just the top (intake, injectors - long story). I'll try the overfill tomorrow afternoon again. The mechanic did notice a couple of the oil pan screws were missing, which is why he thinks there may be something amiss with the pickup.

Update: He was right - the oil pickup tube was missing it's only screw...
