If you're about to post a topic in this area - General Cadillac Non-Model Specific Discussion - and it's named anything like:
Can my DeVille fly if I attach wings to it?
Is the Eldorado a gas guzzler?
Can my Fleetwood Brougham beat a Lexus LS?
Is my Escalade too big?
Why are CTS-Vs so darned fast?
Please don't!
The discussion about the DeVille belongs in the DeVille section.
The discussion about the Eldorado belongs in the Eldorado section.
The discussion about the Fleetwood Brougham belongs in the Fleetwood Brougham section.
The discussion about the Escalade belongs in the Escalade section.
And the discussion about the CTS-V belongs in the CTS section.
And it's not only about Subjects and Titles. If you post a topic called, "Wow! Cadillacs are Great!" - and all you talk about is how wonderful your SRX is and how you'll never buy another car because the SRX has this and that and the other thing - then please post that message in the SRX section...
Thank you very much...

Here are a few good examples:

Technically, you're right.. It's kind of hard to distinguish.. This particular forum should probably be cleared out...
I've just read what you entered here. I know you mean well, but I think you are wrong on this one. The make/model specific discussion is very technical, just read some of their questions. I see nothing wrong with talking about Escalade being too big on the non-specific forum, as long as it is just very generic.
Examples of non-generic threads:
1) My power window motor on my 2001 Fleetwood Brougham is broken, what do I do?
2) My 1959 Escalade didn't start this morning. Help
3) I live in Madagaskar and needs spare tie rod for my 1899 Deville. Any junk yards in there?
And so on. I think people themselves pretty much decided that generic Cadillac chat belongs here, while more specific technical stuff belonds on specific model site.
I say let's not invent the internet here :) and just let the flow go as it wants to, that is, as far as this subject goes.
P.S. IF you want to get really technical, this thread belongs to "site suggestions" forums. :)

Sal, this is a tough one. sometimes i think its worthless but once in a blue moon its useful.(this forum) but what do i know i've only been a member for 2 months.
i suggest a poll. or just making this thread a sticky, but not everyone reads the stickies before they post. POLL.
BTW, isn't it funny that my thread was a good example but yet it had to be moved from the lounge?!! LOL:lildevil: :shhh: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9048
Oh no. maybe i should have posted this in the site news/feedback forum?!!

It just seems that maybe most of the stuff in here can just as easily fit in The Lounge...

On a similar note...
I see of 'Parts and Accessories' posts in the 'Detailing and Appearance' section.
Asking what you think about a grill, etc..., has nothing to do with detailing. Maybe it's the word appearance that has these people confused.
Regardless, I'm certain people would get more response to those questions if they were in their vehicle section.

Yeah, us uppity CTS owners don't want to be seen socializing with the Fleetwood owners. :p
