i just saw a 80 fwb this weekend that had a factory 6.0l engine in it. i didnt know this was an optional engine for these cars.

My 1980 Seville had a 6.0. (Biggest POS car I ever owned BTW)

The 368 (6.0L) was standard in 80 and 81. 80 was carb, 81 was FI with variable displacement. The Buick V6 was the optional engine, along with a diesel.

My 80 Coupe has the carb version, and it has been nothing but rock solid.

You do not want an old GM car diesel. It was a converted gasoline engine. They did not last; they could not handle the high compression because they were designed as a gasoline engine, not a diesel.

really...that would explain why my moms early 80's olds station wagon diesel blew with such low miles...loved that car

id love to get my hands on a pre '85 and take it for a little spin. yeah i never understood cadillac when it came to diesels. GM makes great diesels for the chevy/gmc line, why not stick one in a cadillac? sounds like a good project
