As the almost proud new owner of an SRX (on order), and owner of another GM, I know how difficult it is to find knowlegable installers and/or products to install remote start ability. I had to go 120 miles last year to find a remote starter for the wife's H2.
Anyone have a remote starter installed in their Caddy, or specifically SRX? If so, what brand, and where?
I haven't called the H2 installer yet, but will if need be.

I would assume places like HHGregg and stuff like that would be able to do them....
Did you have to drive to indy to get it done...??
Im near FtWayne right now, maybe we could meet up??? :)

Hi Fellow Hoosier----No, Had to go north of Chicago to Schaumberg, IL.
Who/what is "HHGregg"?
I had a Hornet installed on the H2. Hornet is part of DEI which owns lots of names.
Only decent installer around here is Ziebart (franchise), but they totally ruined a Lincoln belonging to a friend of mine. Not for me!!

INteresting... My grandpa has ziebart install a remote starter on his old 2002 grand marquis.... IT worked great!!
HHgregg is kinda like circuit city, or best buy.. Any of those places would be fine IMO...
Are you more/less asking for a BRAND to get installed, or a place to get anything installed??
Personally I would check out www.crutchfield.com and see what kind of products they say fit your car. Then you can compare what different stores have to offer...

Crutchfield is very knowleagable and has good products, BUT----way too expensive, and does not install.
Most all remote starters are integrated into alarm systems, and from experience, require an experienced installer who also carries/represents quality systems. They also need to be programmed after install using specialty equipment.
That being said, I would go to Circuit City/Best Buy/ABC as a last resort only.
There are only 2 or 3 quality manufacturers/brands available, and the trick is to find the installer that is experienced--that's the key word.

I have a Clifford Responder. Works perfect. Love it, the shop complained about the install though..

Atomic,
It was: Redline Automotive Electronics; 1600 S. Roselle Rd.(at Nerge Rd.); Schaumburg, IL 60172; 630-980-7100.
They did a terrific job on the H2. The Hornet unit will work to 1200 feet.
