Also, while we want the ticking noise to end, we all hope it does not end abruptly and with a flash.:burn: [now seriously] Is your ticking noise regular (e.g., it has fixed periodicity) or is it random? Also, what roughly is the length of time between clicks . . . how fast do they come? Also, can you say if the ticking is originating WITHIN the passenger compartment? Is is possibly coming instead from something inside the engine compartment? Finally, can you offer any localization? Is the ticking on the left, right, center of the dash, high or low?? erniegram97 05-01-07, 09:29 PM it sounds like its the lower left of the dash Po Pimp 05-02-07, 01:11 PM Not sure of the specifics of when exactly you are hearing this sound. If it is when you are driving I would make sure that it is not the front driver side wheel. Find a spot with a fence or wall near the road. Roll down the driver's window with no other sounds like the radio and drive by. If it is orginating from the wheel the reflection of the sound off the wall will be a give away. I have over the years had a couple incidences where rocks have worked there way into the brakes. One gouged a huge groove in my rotor, another wedged itself atop the caliper in between some clips which helped secured the pads and made the most annoying sound you have ever heard. If it is really under the dash I do not have a clue where to tell you to start. Is everything working on your car? erniegram97 05-09-07, 08:04 PM it turned out to be a relay for alc what is that guardian 05-09-07, 10:45 PM it turned out to be a relay for alc what is that ALC is "Automatic Level Control". It's a standard Cat feature for the rear of the car. | |
