Basically I want one that can show me RPM's, and pull codes and all that stuff. Where would I find one, what're they called, and how much do they go for? I'm looking for an old one for my car's older OBD system......

If you keep your eyes open, you can find old laptops in the classifieds or at computer recyclers for dirt cheap. I use an AKM cable for my cars, and it connects to an IBM Pentium I 166. I upped the RAM to 64 megs and added a network card. Total investment with the cable was under 150 bucks. I have software that scans the engine, reports on all sensors, data logs, reads and clears codes. I also have software that car read out and reprogram the PCM in my 95 Impala SS.
