just had mine replaced at a very good repair house, not cadillac. i have a 2001. the pump was $678, labor $169. then they went to connect the high side hose, and it leaked. there was a revision in the hose connection. they also had to install a new high side hose. hose $221, labor $270. i had purchased an extended warranty when i bought the car in feb 07. which has almost paid for itself...total bill to warranty company...$1338 !!!
i paid $100 deductible
my mechanics in palm beach work on mercedes, ferrari, rolls royce and bentley. they are in no hurry to work on my catera again. if thats any indication of the ease of doing it yourself.
good luck, robert:bigroll:

Start the hunt for parts at these sites. I hear they're much cheaper than most places. Stay away from Cadillac. Find a repair shop that services Saabs or Saturns. Chances are good they've seen the Catera's V6 since some models of those cars use it too.
